is there anything that stands out at Aintree today please?

good shape races, offers, strong fancies etc

no need to force it of course, but all ears even if you don't want it placed for the thread (superstitious people around...)

Staniel Jam is best price everything in the Topham. Fred will need a conduit there, but just letting folk know.

Anyone else think 17/2 on QPR at home against Chelsea is just too big?

Costa confirmed out for 4-5 weeks.  Chelsea are not playing well and QPR have just found a little bit of momentum. Austin is in goalscoring form and Phillips cant stop setting him up. QPR need to win more than Chelsea do.

Hi Greg

i don't think it is especially big. what would the price have been ten days ago, since when QPR have scored 7 and got 4 points out of 6? ie it would have been nearer 10-1 and there's a bit of recency in the price? and the chelsea back 5/midfield are a different kettle of fish to west brom or villa..

i am a bit cautious when someone says "they need to win more". whilst they do, in my experience (learned the hard way) "they need to win more" doesn't too often translate into producing the result they need.... they team that "they need to win more" is in that situation becasue they aren't very good...

let see what others think..

10/1 At home? I would say unlikely. I dont think i have seen a game this season where the home team have been double digits, but could well be wrong.

Yes there is perhaps some adjustment to recent variables in the price. I thought it was big enough for a small interest so thought i would open it up. 8.5/1 seemed like value to me.

Quick Minnesota Wild update.

Having locked up a playoff spot, the Wild finally rested Devan Dubnyk (amongst other players) snapping a 38 consecutive start streak which was the longest by an NHL goalie for 7 years. Despite this, they recorded a 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators and with one regular season game remaining they will finish in seventh spot - unless they win their final game and the Blackhawks lose theirs, in which case they'll finish third in the division and end up with a home playoff tie in the first round.

Either way I'll do a playoff preview in a couple of days once matchups are known.

Chicago can still lose the game as long as they take it to OT.  If they take a point Minnesota face St Louis.

The Wild could also play the Ducks depending on results.

Minnesota are battle hardened now, negative or positive? Time will tell. Ducks have been playing soft for weeks so this team will be fresh and ready for redemption after that series v LA where they blew it.  St Louis are slowly getting back to full strength.  Really tough call which opposition  I would prefer.

the current leader is on the course in the masters

you cannot see it on any tv channel

i know the augusta committee deliberately restrict coverage

isn't that extraordinary in this day and age?

It is a little, yes, though I suppose they have their reasons.

The Augusta Suits are a strange bunch in many ways, with much to dislike. Georgia is that kind of place, though, with some very ingrained traits.

What time does the Red Button coverage start, do you know?

Sadly my procrastination has cost us 5 points, and I should have taken a chance yesterday.

Rajdhani Express stands out for me in the Topham tomorrow, but the bigger prices are long gone, and I also like the chances of Bless the Wings.

Second in the Kim Muir, he stormed up the first part of the hill but slowed right down, as if he didn't truly stay the 3miles. This 2.5m should be spot on.  on.Touch wood, he is a good jumper and never fallen. ground should be spot. All his wins have been on Good to soft.

Elliot is a master of turning horses round and his preparation on BTW looks as if he has been trying to tee him up for the Spring campaign.

Davy Condon is a safe conveyance and gets used by a lot of bigger Irish stables for some proper punts and I wouldn't be surprised to see a fair bit of money for this.

Keeping the stakes sensible for Fred so have £10 ew @20-1

Well done Adz, just as well us Ice Creams don't mind a bit of thin value! hope you got a tasty price

Well done Adzy, think we got on Bless The Wings, as we missed the price.

Morning Mr T.

I think we should be looking to lay him in running if he hits Evs tonight. Course will dry out and get much tougher and there are some excellent players close.

At 11 under through 8, Speith has gone odds on.
