Combining PP's mythical prices for 0 and 1 beats 1/7 easily.

True. If you could get much on.

I think the 1/7 is on the exchange not SB.

Just had this e-mail come through from Boyle Sports:

Hi Peter,

It has come to our attention that you have placed a bet(s) on the Bahrain Grand Prix. Please be advised there was an error on our price display, 33/1 is incorrect the correct price is 7/1.The bet will stand at the correct price. If you wish to have the bet cancelled, you can do so prior to the start of the event (15.55 today)

This action has been taken in accordance with our rules General Rules, (I), which are as follows:

We will make every effort to ensure total accuracy in the issuing and publishing of our prices & information. However, we will not be held accountable or accept responsibility for any obvious errors or omissions made in any of the markets offered and we reserve the right to correct these errors as follows:

All palpable errors will be settled at correct price, unless the customer requests the bet to be made void before the start of the event.

This rule applies to both pre-event and in-running markets.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us via live chat 24/7 or reply on this email. We will be more than happy to help you.

Kind regards,

UGH!!

Hi Peter,

I was AWOL yesterday, & am on catch up here, but just a comment about this one, which you might find useful in the future.

Your suggestion was....

Top 6 Finish - Nico Hulkenberg @ 33/1 with Boyles. There are a few scenarios where this could happen, the price is insanity! Way out of line of the other bookies. Suggest £5.

When you see a price THAT much out of line, it usually comes under what a bookmaker calls a palp, or "palbable error".

In these spots, you can get freerolled by the bookie in several ways.

1) You think the bet stands, & if it loses, nothing more is said.

2) If it wins, they refuse to pay out @ 33/1, claiming (correctly) it is a "palp".

So either way, we are getting freerolled.

Worse than either of those, there is a strong possibility that the bookie will either mark your account, a sort of Yellow Card, restrict it, or even close it, for being too sharp.

As I've learned to my cost, keeping our accounts clean is extremely important. If we (Fred) had looked after our Accounts better in the early days, I believe our ROI would be at least 1% higher, i.e., 5% not 4%. That's a huge difference. This particularly applies to the Green Irish chaps, & BetEveryDay. I shudder to think what being restricted by those two has cost us.

Hope that helps for future use.

I gather the race did not go too well for us yesterday, but no matter, embrace the variance, it is our friend & lover.

Thanks for the post and explanation Smiley

I'm really quite angry about this whole "palp" thing though - if they make the mistake, they should suffer the consequences with the bet standing - not the customer. If the bet had have won, I'm stubborn (some would say stupid) enough to take the matter to an appeal, and possibly even the courts.

Struggling McLaren-Honda expect a significant step forward in performance at the next grand prix.

http://bbc.in/1OxSS4c

the challenge to our <155 points for the season spread starts then

I'm not really concerned at all. Would be very surprised if they scored points at the next race, Barcelona - a track the teams all know extremely well. This race should run to form and it's a good opportunity for us to make a big profit.

I've no doubt that Jensen will be hoping for a "significant step forward", too.

I read somewhere that yesterday was the first time since 2003 he has missed starting a F1 GP. No idea if that's true, but if it is, it's a quite remarkable stat.

Camel must be on the edge of his seat, barely able to contain his excitement.

The last race Jenson missed would be the 2005 US GP, the one where only six drivers started.

Hi Peter,

I don't agree witch 'palps' in any shape or form either, however they are in the bookies terms and conditions. IBAS would rule in the bookies favour however you might have more success in court Smiley

The Wild won game 3 3-0 with a dominating performance, stifling the Blues offense, restricting them to just 17 shots, and creating a number of quick transitional opportunities. The top line of Parise, Pominville and Granlund sparked into life, combining for 6 points, with Nino Niederritter adding the cherry with a late empty netter goal. Next game is Wednesday night and a Wild win would put them in a hugely strong position.

Wonderful news, thanks for the Update.

So we lead 2-1 now, is that correct?

Correct. For those that went with Tampa to win their series against the Red Wings, game 3 is tonight.

Great. I am still confident of that bet though. ish. Ding is a machine at times on the table and plays robotic with no emotions. I remember him nearly breaking down whilst playing Ronnie in the masters one year, until the ref had a word, and Ronnie stood in to calm him down too (afaicr).

Pretty dreadful from Day.  Allen didn't even need to get our of 2nd gear to rattle off 5 consecutive frames.  Day seemed to have opportunities in most of them.

Betfair sportsbook go 3/1 both Lewandoski and Messi scoring tonight

they have 11 in the competition between them

Bayern have a two goal deficit

thoughts on that?

messi is 4/6 anytime

lewandoski is 10/11 anytime

which is a 2.2-1 double
