I wonder what this lot think now as Pardew's team lead 2-1 at Anfield?

I guess in life you should be careful what you wish for.

I'm one of the few Newcastle fans to think Pardew is a good manager, I always did. He is however, a bit of a loose cannon in terms of his personality (thinking about his famous headbutt) and so I was indifferent when he got sacked.

I don't even think Carver is that bad either to be honest, our squad is just appalling though.

To be honest, it doesn't really matter if we go down or not. Our investment in the summer will inevitably be nowhere near good enough and we'll just go down next season anyway .. mike ashley is the issue here.

Added treat Everton beating WHUFC to keep the top 10 dream alive. They need to both lose their last and Palace to win theirs as the only way in.

If West Brom draw or lose their next, Palace will be above them for the last ante post bet to land.

I'm going to get this one up nice and early and I expect it to cause a little debate.

Middlesbrough v Norwich

M'boro are 15/8, are they really 15/8 against a team they have already beaten twice this season. they've beaten them 4-0 and 1-0. They've also eased to an extent into the final against Brentford, whilst Norwich have had to endure 2 tough games against their most fierce rivals.

I think 15/8 won't be around matchday, but it is available in a couple of places (Betfred, Tote)

Suggest £40 M'boro at 15/8.

How likely is it the bookies don't price this game up correctly?

Get the point, but would love to know what edge Norwich have. I can't seperate the teams, so would think that Boro are value to win or even go up at 11/10

i think the reasons given are irrelevant. the two games earlier in the season, one months ago with Norwich in no form and under a previous manager...not an issue. the play off semi-finals are 10 days before the final. just not an issue whether a team gets to wembley in a close or one sided pair of semi-finals

that said, i like middlesborough too for this at the price. Tough team to break down and think Karanka is quite astute. no obvious reason for me that they would be underdogs

Ok, but why would the bookies get this wrong?

Neither of these are massively popular teams with the punters, are they? There's no gravediggers principle here where one team is getting all the money and the bookies split the handle, is there? Much accumulator money on Norwich they'd be eager to lay off?

I get the rationales as to why we think Boro will win but this is a one off game the bookies have sole focus on, as much information as us and can't really get the price that wrong unless we can find an angle.

Tell me otherwise, by all means.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £988.75*

Outstanding Bets £2296.32

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eCEvN9MELsUxB81rHuWrfoX3zwIMPQQ205Lcjm3kbgU/edit#gid=24

Friday.
A loss of £40

-£10 St Johnstone 0-0 against Celtic

-£20 Wigan not only failed to cover the handicap they lost to Hull KR

-£10 Murali Vijay top IPL runscorer. For the worst team in the competition Vijay scored 251 runs in 11 innings. currently top of the standings, Warner has scored 556 runs, so we were a way off

Saturday. A profit of £517

+£390 Stoke's point at Burnley secured their top ten finish and one of the biggest ante-post bets (£150 at 3.6) came in

+£52 Arod 3rd in the Lockinge at 25-1 each way behind night of thunder and toormore

+£45 Palace e/w on the premier league handicap at 16-1

+£30 Leicester City staying up. 7 points from safety with 9 games left; survived with one to spare

* the monthly profit is to some extent a timing issue as the last premier league game sees ante-post losses of £350-450 to be taken, depending on results next week

ongoing positions

Football

- the West Ham top 10 bet suffered a grievious blow with Lukaku's 93rd minute winner at Upton Park, putting Everton ahead of West Ham on goal difference. Next weekend West Ham are at Newcaslte, Everton play Tottenham

- QPR beat Newcastle, and Burnely's point meant the Burnley to finish bottom bet goes to the final game with the two teams on identical points, and QPR one goal superior on goal difference. QPR go to Leicester next weekend. Burnley are at Villa

- Palace's 3-1 win at Liverpool gives them a slight shot at the top ten finish. they would need to beat and West Ham/Everton lose their last game. Palace finish at home to Swansea

The Palace result though was fantastic news for the Palace v WBA Points bet. Palace now 4 points ahead of WBA who have Chelsea and Arsenal to play

cricket

Thanks to a 59 ball hundred from Shane Watson, Rajasthan hit 199 against KKR and held on to win by 9 runs to make the last four of the IPL. Likely to finish 3rd or 4th in the table, and likely to play the winner of Sunrisers/Mumbai who play in the final group game today in the first play-off eliminator next week

MLB

The White Sox beat Oakland 7-6 and 4-3 in the last two nights. Now won four straight, 8 of their last 10, six series in a row and in form unlike earlier in the season

The Red Sox beat Seattle 4-2 last night

todayis another big day

Barcelona could win La Liga, playing at Atletico Madrid

We need an Arsenal result at Old Trafford, and Man C failing to win would help too for the bet on Arsenal to finish second

The LA Clippers game seven at the Houston Rockets. win and in, lose and out.....
