I have a remit from gramps to boost the viewing figures obv. ;

Whilst on the subject of this evening's golf and Glen Abbey, where the Canadian Open is taking place I feel compelled to mention that I played the course a couple of times in the 1970's with my old snooker mate Cliff Thorburn when l lived in Toronto, which is only around 20/30 miles away.

-£25 Bottas top six and Bottas group bets at the fantastic Hungarian GP

Having already had early drama from the start,

then a Hamilton mistake that left him 10th the race became a complete barnstormer after the safety car caused by Hulkenberg's front wing failure

Hamilton pushed into Rcciardo on the re-start and got a drive through

In the scramble that followed Verstappen punctured Bottas' rear wheel

Ricciardo then caught Rosberg and they too squabbled over the same patch of tarmac exiting turn one, Ricciardo needed a nose change and Rosberg punctured

the race result wasn't too positive for our long term bets

on the upside Vettel is now 108 points ahead of ricciardo in that match bet. on the lap after the race had finished he thanked his team in italian, the bianchi family in french and the fans in english in the same sentence. impressive stuff.

Kvyat caught up 3 points on ricciardo in that match bet and is now 6 points behind

Rosberg lost 4 more points to Hamilton and is now 21 behind

McLaren in 5th and 9th scored 12 points to make it 17 for the season. we need under 153

force india no points, they still have 39, we need 69

MK are sniffing around Morsy, which would really hurt Chesterfield. We already have £50 on them to be relegated at 8-1 but tempted to double it, as still plenty of 7-1 around. Will leave up to the chiefs.

£25.00 Single
Market   Selection   Price   Hcp
Premier League 2015/2016
Season Handicap
EW 1/4 1,2,3,4   Watford (+49)   15/1
Total stake   £ 50.00
Estimated return   £ 518.75
Full stake   £ 50.00
Full estimated return   £ 518.75

Rather than opening spread accounts

i think the doobs reminder of 100 points to win 90+ points each way including the handicaps is the important one here when we look at those handicap prices

for example palace are +38.

last season they got 48 points

people are bullish on palace

can they realistically imrpove 10-12 points for +38 to be interesting though?

Interestingly, I think thread favourites Palace and Stoke have the biggest spread in quotes (8 and 7 respectively).

Stoke could be more interesting with +37.  If you add that to last season's total of 54, they don't have to improve by much at all to be challenging for the places.   The bookies must be expecting a bit of regression to mean with them and a couple of other teams, as it is a similar story with Swansea and Southampton.  I would be interested in people's thoughts on if any of the 3 teams mentioned (Stoke, Southampton and Swansea) could maintain last year's level.  If they can, then you could make a cae for backing any of the 3 each way on the handicap.

RobS mentioned yesterday about the 125% book, but the place book has only a 5% over round which isn't nearly so bad.

I think there is enough here for a discussion.

i saw a discussion about swansea yesterday involving mark langdon of the RP

Mark Langdon ‏@marklangdon

Just spent a long time researching Swansea and pretty sure they will be a negative in the betting markets this season

From a statistical data point of view it was very difficult for them to finish eighth. Some say table never lies but that isn't true

Ki scored eight goals from 24 shots. Eight goals from 24 shots. No idea how that can happen.

.
one person in response had swansea 3/10 to finish bottom half (they are 4/5 generally)

Recommend another £50 at the general 7-1, Chesterfield to be relegated.

Presume Chesterfield will be a good points sell when the bookies price them up Chomps.  Imagine they'll be mid/low 60s?  Do you see the Division having a lot of disparity like last season with the market leaders romping away?  Looking at last year's table all the favoured teams did well (Leyton Orient aside)

Chompy

as a local chap, any thoughts on Cambridge 16-1 promotion e/w from div 2?

made over £1m from the 2 games against Man U last jan

then went on a very bad run in the league

this summer have recruited heavily, including barry corr from southend who i was surprised they got

the chairman, Mr George, is highly ambitious and has reinvested much of the cup proceeds into the squad for this year

this article refers

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33652757

Portsmouth are v short. Luton have a fair amount of hype. Notts c could be anything (or not)

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/winner

---

coincidentally, you mentioned gillingham

as someone who was on newport last year and was in the hunt at the end of jan i saw the following yesterday

"Taking results at both Newport and Gillingham into account, Justin Edinburgh oversaw W21-D13-L9 in 2014/15. Without him they W13-D12-L21."

"Basically, if Edinburgh was a team he'd have finished in the play-offs. But the teams w/out him in charge would be close to relegation..."

No real opinion on C**bridge.

Poshies play them this weekend in a friendly, the Chris Turner memorial game, and it's the first time we've played them in a looooong time. Was a big local rivalry when I were a lad.

Am keen on getting with Gills somehow this season but they've got a tough first month, with Sheff Utd (H), Port Vale (A), Bradford (A), Wigan (H) and Poshies (A).

Tempted to leave it until the end of August and see where they're at. Bradley Dack is different gear, though, and destined for bigger things. If he can behave that is. As long as they have him and Doug Loft in midfield, and Cody up front they'll be all right.

Choral's lolspecialsloltraderguesser has taken a chance on Celebrity Big Brother, especially as they offer...

'Stakes returned on any quoted celebrity who doesn't enter the house. Others may be added.'

Janice Dickinson is favourite in a few lists and seems fairly likely to go in but they have her at 25-1.

Flick in £50 at that price please, can trade it in due course. They should take it. Remember, Choral are a proper bookmaker. They said so on the telly.
