This is most generous of them though, & I'm much relieved & grateful.

However, the fee charged will never exceed your remaining account balance.

I'm going to witness the carnage tomorrow, so I'm hoping to be proved wrong on this but, on current form, Altrincham are way too big a price at home to Barnsley tomorrow, with prices ranging from 4/1 to 24/5 depending on where you bet, according to Oddschecker.

Barnsley are currently on their worst league losing streak since the late 1950s, having now lost 7 games in a row in League One.  The manager (sorry, Head Coach) is proving himself to be inept and adopting a policy of changing formation every game whilst playing players out of position, and a sizeable element of the away support will be half-hoping for the worst tomorrow as it will surely make his position untenable.

Player confidence is as low as I've ever seen it, and it's the youngest squad in the Football League with injuries to key players (Conor Hourihane in particular is doubtful for the game).  Altrincham, in contrast, are hovering above the relegation spots in the Conference but currently unbeaten in 4 games.

On balance we should still be favourites for the game, but not by as much as the prices suggest.  There's definite value to be had.

I've had some of the 5/1 from 364 if Fred wants some of that

Thanks Dan, appreciated, we've taken £15 I believe.

Settle up after the result ok?

What sort of business effectively charges you interest for lending THEM money.  Idiots.

Didn't Party Poker do this as well, iirc?
I presume it's to make degens play more but it made me withdraw my balance. It does seem counter intuitive.

They were an Annie Power fall away from having to pay me out over £2k from a £5 free bet...

What made it even more annoying was that they had restricted me to SP only after about 3 bets.

They used to, yes, might still do, no idea. Ladbrokes used to do it, too.

The idea is to entice lapsed clients back. That's upside down logic to me, send me a note like that & I get all stubborn & obdurate.

The idea generally is to be legally allowed to hoover 'dead' balances which thousands of punters forget about.  Believe me they add up over thousands of dead accounts.

I'd have thought

'We just chucked a tenner in your account, and don't forget you have £200 in there'

is likely to work better than

'We're going to whip £4 off your £200 balance, ta'

Cheesy

Please don't mention that horse's name. The only Mullins horse I backed in that entire festival.

Incredible what I can bok.

No such restrictions with Mr Power here Cheesy Although Choral has started to question my Strictly bets. £20 on Kellie to be top scorer at 6/1, you say? Hmm....You can have £17. I can only presume the senior trader is having a fillet steak at the local TGI's for £17.99 and wanted not to risk the extra.

I thought they had to wait 6 years before they could do that?

Racebets done me a favour actually, I had clean forgotten I had money on there. I'll likely withdraw it now. With much pleasure.
