I'm going to witness the carnage tomorrow, so I'm hoping to be proved wrong on this but, on current form, Altrincham are way too big a price at home to Barnsley tomorrow, with prices ranging from 4/1 to 24/5 depending on where you bet, according to Oddschecker.

Barnsley are currently on their worst league losing streak since the late 1950s, having now lost 7 games in a row in League One.  The manager (sorry, Head Coach) is proving himself to be inept and adopting a policy of changing formation every game whilst playing players out of position, and a sizeable element of the away support will be half-hoping for the worst tomorrow as it will surely make his position untenable.

Player confidence is as low as I've ever seen it, and it's the youngest squad in the Football League with injuries to key players (Conor Hourihane in particular is doubtful for the game).  Altrincham, in contrast, are hovering above the relegation spots in the Conference but currently unbeaten in 4 games.

On balance we should still be favourites for the game, but not by as much as the prices suggest.  There's definite value to be had.

I've had some of the 5/1 from 364 if Fred wants some of that

Thanks Dan, appreciated, we've taken £15 I believe.

Settle up after the result ok?

£75 sent, gg Cheesy

Altrincham hold on in torrential rain for an FA Cup upset and a 5-1 winner

thank you and commiserations to Sheriff.

If it ends Lee Johnson's tenure as Head Coach then some good can still come out of it.

The depressing thing was that Altrincham didn't even have to up their game to get the win, but all credit to them regardless.

We're at home to York in the JPT on Tuesday.  Keep an eye out for the York odds as there may be further value to plunder!

2 more wides win. Do you avoid them if the odds are tiny (think in the 8:02 trap 6 was 2/5) and just back the other 2 wides?

At crayford i try to lay short priced slow away dogs on the inside when it is favouring the outside where they will struggle to overcome the bias coming from behind as it is such a leaders track and you have the added chance of them finding trouble at the first bend if they are slow away.  Would be laying them stronger place only at a shorter price as well on nights like tonight as well as in the win market.

I am mainly a layer rather than a backer generally.

Ah ok. Just trying to get an understanding so just throwing a few quid on traps 4-6 to win unless the price is piss poor. Hope the wides keep winning, Thanks!

Martin Adams plays in the GSOD tonight for the first time. He has always declined an invitation in the past and is only playing this time at the request of the BDO as relations between the organisations have improved. He has been very vocal in the past about his dislike for the PDC and what it has become, in particular the crowds. He is used to getting the best of order at the Lakeside, he won't get that tonight. I think he will get a fair bit of heat from the crowd. His opponent White has had a solid year. If Adams lets the crowd get to him I can see White winning handily. I've backed 5-0 and 5-1.

You have backed every winner so far then!!!  wp!  You need a betfair account generally for dogs if you are backing big prices as most of them will be a bigger price there than with the betting firms just in case you didn't know already.  the last t5 winner 5/1 sp was over 8/1 on bf.

I assumed he was in it because he was skint after divorcing Shazza after 30 years of marriage and needed the cash!!  Cynical old bastard that i am!

Agree with the recommendation obviously as well.  Think he will get some serious heat from the crowd.  How late on is he (ie how pissed will the crowd be?)

6-5-4

Pulling back some of my football losses with this bias. Whirlwind was 11/10 before opening show, 1/2 on the off.

Whole heartedly agree with the Adams suggestion. What nobody's mentioned is that as well as getting butchered by the crowd, he's playing Ian White, arguably the most improved player on the circuit this year. Definitely recommend White -3.5 if we can get on.
