Are the bookies PR men getting more savvy at spinning these stories or are there just a lot more weekends where the acca wagons seem to be having it right off?  Seems to be there are 2 or 3 of these carnage weekends every season nowadays.

You on facebook?

I think I see it more now as I get to see the facebook "brags" and the cash out dilemmas.  In the days before Facebook and bookie PR on Twitter, I'd just have been oblivious to them.  Unfortunately I use Facebook far too little to be able to stop them cashing out.  Not sure producing a sky betting slip where they have been able to bet more than 50p is much of a brag either.

for those who read my post last week (there wasn't any feedback)

According to the French newspaper Midi Olympique  Jake White was interviewed by the RFU on Friday vis-a-vis the England job

his team montpellier played in london on thursday, so it would tally

hasn't been formally confirmed by either party, or the English press

white and jones are 3/1 jolies, 10/1 bar

http://www.oddschecker.com/rugby-union/rugby-specials/england/next-england-head-coach

I read it, but simply couldn't add anything useful.

Jones now shortened to 2/1, White down as drifting to 11/4.  Presumably Jones has been interviewed too.

I read it and backed them both. Didn't comment, sorry, but appreciated it as always. In hindsight I should have said ' I think Fred should get on this '. Will try harder next time. Smiley

by the way, NFL underdogs went 10-2 against the spread Sunday with nine outright upsets.

best week for the vegas books in many a year. one chap lumped $72,000 on the GB Packers at -800 and was done

I reckon the bookies have done money on the darts as well. Not many upsets all week and I know at least 2 of the sites offered boosts on MvG to win it.
I'm know myself and the lads I discuss darts bets with have had a lovely week.

What price do you think MvG will go off for the Worlds now? Doubt there'll be much value.

3rd ODI in Sharjah tomorrow

@bbctms has an up close and personal with the pitch

being played on the test pitch, had 5 days play already

starts 11am tomorrow, whoever wins the toss and bats should be around 1/2, as chasing isnt going to be easy on an old track

as it is it is slightly surprising to see England favourites on a used one given our spinners v theirs.

325 wolver would be worth blowing up a brand new account for 3 max limit ew bets on the front three in the market.  Would happily lose an account if i could get 3 max limit ew bets on this race.

Not for Fred as we don't have the bookies but there is a touch of value for whoever can bet on Joshua King 1st goalscorer for Bournemouth in this match @ 11/1.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/swansea-v-bournemouth/first-goalscorer
Bookies expecting Glenn Murray to lead the line but it should be King.
Eddie Howe on King;

“I think Joshua gives us that pace up front which Callum had. It is no secret we are still searching for a balance that suits our players. I hope I am not still saying that in two or three months’ time because we are aware we have to find the solutions quite quickly… that is not a criticism of Glenn (Murray), who is an outstanding player in his own right, but the lads have been used to having a quick number nine. I think when the team has adapted to playing a certain way, it is difficult to then change but Glenn has had a couple of good games for us and is a really useful player to have.”

What a coup that would have been on a brand new account with BOG if you took prices on the early shows.  Original fav was friendless and drifted massively and hosed up so you would have got the enhanced sp return with BOG.  The other two filled the places as well.   Great use of a new account.

It possibly is for Fred as Tighty has been using 888 of late.

Another t6 hoses up by half the track.  clear 2nd fav in t1 tailed off in a solo.

hmmm ev really wasn't that great at sp, if the betfair price are "correct" (don't know what the early prices were obv).  Also I think BOG only applies to bets before 1st show at the course with some books.  I thought 1.00 Plum would have been good as well but wasn't really great at sp.

I haven't been looking much at these races, but imo the big handicaps with the 5 places are always much much better at early prices than course shows, presumably that's the case with dirty maidens/novice hurdles as well?

Heard Corals saying this morning they lost 2 million and the industry about 20m, with footy accumulators on the favs at the weekend .

thumbs up if it was you

Thursday was pretty bad/good (depending which side of the counter you sit) in Horse Racing, too. 58% of the jollies won, including 5 from 6 at Ludlow, 6 from 7 at Clonmel, & 4 from 8 at Chelmsford.

Gotta feel for those poor bookies, eh?

the puff

"Britain’s bookies lost over £15 million on football on Saturday as thousands of small staking football punters won big sums of money with nearly all the short price favourites in the League 1 and League 2 fixtures, as well as the International fixtures, winning.

On what is usually one of the quietest weekends of football, Coral alone were hit for over £2.5 million, with over 60 shop customers turning stakes of between 0.25p and £30 into returns of between £2000 and £10,000, the majority doing so by stringing together between 10 and 14 successful predictions to achieve these amazing returns.

Coincidentally Coral’s three biggest winning customers nationwide placed their bets in Middlesex. A customer in Coral’s shop in Pinner Green, Middlesex, won nearly £33k for just a £4 stake on a 13 fold accumulator, and another in Coral’s South Ruislip shop, also in Middlesex won nearly £23k for a £4 on a 14 fold accumulator. A regular in Coral’s shop in Stanwell, Staines, in Middlesex won just over £15k from a £2 stake.

“This is the worst day of trading we have ever had on football over an international break weekend and the worst football results of the season so far. It is literally the last thing a bookie would expect from a supposedly quiet weekend of football betting,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“All the thousands of Coral customers who turned a few pounds into hundreds of even thousands of pounds are the regulars that deserve it most, as they were still placing their bets this Saturday even without the draw of the Premier League. Fair play to them,” added Clare.

There were several Coral customers worthy of specific mention for their achievements:

Customer in Pinner Green, Middlesex placed a £4 accumulator on 13 teams returning £32,737

Customer in South Rusilip, Middlesex placed a £4 accumulator on 14 teams returning £22,914

Customer in Stanwell, Middlesex placed a £2 accumulator on 14 teams returning £17,126

Customer in Hillsborough, Sheffield put a £2 accumulator on 14 teams returning £15,0991

Customer in Stafford, West Midlands placed a £2 accumulator on 14 teams returning £12,586"

coincidentally the thread had its worst weekend for many many months

My shop got smashed on Saturday, horrible, it was just coupon after coupon from 5pm. 4figs off a quid, some life.

Similar to the weekend around Xmas last year when every fave won then too.
