Not read most of the above as it's really long and my eyes hurt now after studying tomorrow night's Romford card for far too long!

It's live on Sky tomorrow night and it's the final of the Essex Vase, which we have Deanridge Pennys running in the final @20/1 top 4 ew. Good news is it being there, bad news is it's the outsider of the field in the final. It's running style gives us a good chance of scooping the EW terms though @ 5/1, and there is a small yet possible scenario that we cause a shock and win. (Very small!).

I have found 3 dogs that I fancy at prices that I like very much tomorrow, and cannot see how they won't be shorter come the off. I won't put a recc up as such as I read that accounts are bare but just thought i'd put them up for anyone interested as I have over the last couple of weeks.

Selection 1 : 7.11 Katies Piper 7/2

Only three bookies priced so far but I will be surprised if any of my selections are bigger in the morning elsewhere, however, if they are I will be going in again. Katies Piper flew round last week in 23.95 when heavily backed into Evs favourite. Tonight she faces a tougher task but is still no 7/2 shot for me. I've watched video on the 4 dog who moves rails almost immediately and the last time the 1 dog ran at Romford, it took a slight step to the right when wearing the blue vest. There is a lot of pace in this race but we stay straight to the bend and will have all the room we want. I can see money for this tomorrow and hopefully a good run. At the current prices T2 is a lay at 5/4, I think our SP should be about 9/4 tbh.

Selection 2 : 7.43 Oneco Sky 5/2

There are already discrepancies in the price here, with two bookies pricing up 7/4 and 2/1 whilst Paddy's go 5/2. The dog won trap to line last week and this week isn't really an upgrade in class. He has to win the race to the first bend and then I think he can stretch the lead and I only really think there is one dog that is a danger, in T1. Make this more of a 6/4 shot come SP.

Selection 3 : 833 Corrin Bob 9/2

Standout price from bet365 here, Bob has decent form round this track earlier in the year without necessarily winning too many. He has more recently however been in the form of his life. He is fresh off of the back of a Golden Collar win around Crayford, beating Swift Whirlwind in the final who he goes up against again tonight. He has a nice draw in 3 and after a tasty 2 bend trial there is no reason I can't see him leading the inside and hopefully going around infront at the bend. 9/2 is a big price for this dog and i'd make it nearer a 3/1 shot SP. I'll also be playing the 3x1 saver r/f/c here as the red is the only dog with a run behind it that could possibly get to it.

Anyone else fancy much?

Poor weekend for the Roma bet. Beaten at home by Atlanta. Napoli beat Inter Milan tonight to go top, and Fiorentina also didn't win this evening to keep stuff still reasonably tight (Napoli 1st with 31 points, Roma 4th with 27)

Perhaps more concerning is the form of Juventus; strung together 4 wins on the bounce and find themselves on the fringes now, 5th on 24 points. Knew they couldn't be shit all season but was hoping their resurgence might not take shape until xmas/new year when they might have left themselves too much to do. If they are within touching distance by the time 2016 rolls around it could be ominous for everyone else.

But they don't have Gervinho, so ignore all that ^ Wink

I truly hope it goes elsewhere, but tbf it's the most personality Murray has shown in his career to date...

As a differentiator he has single handedly won us something we haven't won for 78 years. Even if the cards fell nicely, the achievement sounds massive on the back pages.

We have had heavyweight champs, won F1 titles, triathlons aplenty in those 78 years.

But Ryan Giggs won it, so who knows what goes on in Joe Publics head?

The media were full of Murray yesterday, every newspaper & Sports TV channel were bigging him up left right & centre, so that must have helped, it was his nut day really.

Might just be me, (& Camel.....) but to a lay observer, the Davis Cup means nothing to me, whereas the Majors do pique my interest.

As McGlashan says, Mardyarse looks like he may have missed his chance due to his last few races, though to be fair, he did win the World Championship in a canter.

Here's the list of SPOTY winners......

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Sports_Personality_of_the_Year_Award

Some interesting names there, as you suggest, my personal faves being young Zara Phillips about whom I am a little fixated, & of course, her Mum, ditto. Royalty helps, of course, we love them Royals.

Murray & Hamilton won it in 2013 & 2014 respectively, & there do not seem many instances of people winning it twice in 3 years, & none consecutively. The exception was Damon Hill, twice in 3 years, which just goes to show that the word "personality" means different things to different people. I'd have Damon in the same group as Mansell & Steve Davis - worthy winners by achievements rather than force of personality.

MotorSport is now 6th on the list of most profitable sports. It will take a bit of work to catch the top five.

Thanks Vince, & yes, a remarkable turn round in Motorsport results for us. Quite a comeback in the month, too, never saw that coming, though of course in the long term, monthly results are irrelevant.

Overall, 5.63% ROI is, to my mind, & all things considered, astonishing. Sadly, we are running out of bookies who are willing to accommodate us, was hard to ever imagine we would get ourselves in that spot when we set off on this journey. Guess we can't complain.

FYP

Impressive how he's managed to make the arid Channel Four Racing coverage even more dry. Michael Owen joining would be like introducing Timmy Mallet by comparison.

Good stuff, MereAuditor.

And tikay, I think there was a little bit on the slate so I'll have a look when time permits and settle up with you. Would you send me the appropriate bank details, please? I presume it's Coutts?

Settlement Day

Good morning, it's that time of month again.

I have no formal record of what I owe, or is owed to me, & my memory is in tatters, so a quick reminder that we need to settle up today.

So far, for November.....

Joe Beevers paid for the F1 bet, I received that yesterday via Tighty.

I paid Chompy this morning for a Chesterfield Top Six Bet & Fury's next opponent.

I paid sonour this morning the grand total of £7.50, one winner for £22.50 (Hulkenburg) & one loser, a Greyhound for £30.

Doobs & I are up to date, he sent me £65 for a SCD bet on Sunday. He & I got in a bit of a mess a while back, so we now settle up immediately, both ways, for all bets.

I have no clue at all of sums owed to Fred, but I think I'm in credit with one or two.

Anyone else owed or owe, please let me know.

Thanks.

Really appreciate people placing bests on Fred's behalf. As doobs explained very fairly & eloquently yesterday, it's a bit rum really, as people are losing their own equity, &, possibly, Accounts. I'm acutely aware of this, & not at all comfortable with it.  Very grateful though. No offence taken if any of you don't want to continue doing so.

I have 3 accounts, Cazenove, Coutts, & The Bank of Gascoigne, can't be too careful you know.

Yes, I may have owed you a few bob, can't recall how much, & then I got very lucky on Saturday thanks to you.

Bank Details will be with you in a jiffy.

Old man now Tikay.

Booked in for 1am/3am "disturbances"

It doesnt help that I am supposed to drink 3 plus litres of water a day to keep my brothers kidney afloat, and most of these are drunk just before bed, as one has the memory of a sieve.

Ask me who won the national in 1968, easy. Remember to drink water during the day to stay alive....nah, not so easy. Roll Eyes

Ha, tell me about it.

I don't have any kidney probs thank God, but I've been sleeping terribly due, I think, to poor diet, & so decided to quit with the sticky buns & lattes, & drink gallons of water. Feel better, except that I still sleep terribly as I need to get up 3 times in the night to pee. Age sucks.

the ten nominees of SPOTY included 3 sportspeople who were not on the 92 names listed in the Betfair market

interestingly, despite Broads 8-15 and Joe Root rising to number one batsman in the world, and winning the Ashes, no cricketer made the shortlist

for overseas SPOTY, we are on Bolt at 9/4 for £50

by the BBC? no i don't think so, their panel choose the nominees. there are nods to equality/inclusion on the list, and a nod towards sports that the BBC covered live certainly
