A lot can happen over a 17 week long bet. Having the player pulled at half time in week 17 to protect him for the play-offs, 100 yards short of a place at 80-1 was unfortunate, but a great sweat nonetheless

Cheers Arb for the Lewis +3.5 Gl thread on the Carson bet didn't do it myself but cheering on for you guys.
Was stealing cash imo given their respective averages. Should have been a 1/5 shot.
Yeah, good stuff.
Stole back some of the dough they nicked off me on the averages, and dutch coups.
So much punting to be done, in such a short period of time.
Love the darts!
I think its like shelling peas honestly. The markets are full of cash on betfair but so many of them are wrong. Chomps will disagree obviously as usual. The bf sp is always right blah blah blah.
Darts is the biggest % of mug punter cash in the markets sport in the world imo (why is every single darts event sponsored by a bookmaker? Ever thought to think about it?)
Even more so on the off when the wagons really get stuck in. There are thousands of huge football judges. I can't have there are more than 50 proper darts judges in the world yet tens of millions is bet on it every day it is on tv.
It does make me laugh when horse racing demands betting firms pay the levy and become official betting partners in order to allow them to spend THEIR money on sponsoring the horse racing product. Horse racing has no power now over bookmakers. Barry Hearn provides the perfect product for bookmakers to iron out wagons and that's why they all want to spend their money with him rather than dance to horse racing's more and more incredibly redic demands. Horse racing needs to be very careful imo. They don't have anywhere near the power they think they do in the global betting market in 2015 that they think they do.
Gonna have to disagree with you there Mr Argue. I don't like to, as I don't have all day to argue with Argue, but you must have been on the source when you penned that.
I'm not at all convinced margins on darts are much different to other sports.
As to the size of the betting market on Darts, it is miniscule compared to football, horse racing & tennis. Significant, yes, but small beer in the greater scheme of things. It does not occur with the same frequency, either, there is football, gee-gees & tennis 7 days per week, but there are barely 60 days per year of decent, "bettable" Darts.
Bookmakers sponsor darts because....
1) It is Televised.
2) The nature of the game & venue allows prominent multi-position fixed advertising which is embedded on TV coverage for around 3 hours per night. That's worth a LOT of money.
The income/profit/acquisition from Darts Betting would not even begin to cover the costs of Sponsorship, & it's not even close. The value lies in the sustained (3 hours per night?) TV exposure to the brand.
Quite simply, it's a magnificent advertising vehicle, & nothing to do with profitability of the darts market.
Hard to get better exposure for a brand than this.......
What are the Sky boys doing? Their advertising looks completely village compared to the other companies? It's like someone stuck a giant post-it up 5 minutes before going live?

Ha, agreed, it was pretty naff, though it was a long time ago.
They do things a little better now.......

just to confirm
RVB was 1/2 1,2 so i have adjusted the spreadsheet to reflect that it was a loser
Dazzler asked me to double check his account, which i have done, to confirm this - not that i had any doubts!

Ty for tipping up WAS Tighty, I also went the ML route. Staggeringly, with recent form able to stop runaway trains, it still got home.

no problem. job done for Dallas. secure the top 5 pick but don't lose too badly
tikay also had £31.11 on the money line, but i was battling a recalcitrant leg of lamb with a carving knife (I lost) before the NFL games started last night so didn't get to confirm it on here

Thanks for the Redskins bet Tighty. It was a lovely spot. Also brightens the mornings to have a Daily Report so thanks for that too.
I guess I could be classified as one of the much maligned lurkers on this thread but the truth is that until the day bookies start pricing up husky racing I don't have much to contribute tips wise.
I have been with the thread since the start and it has improved the quality of my betting patterns no end so thanks to all the elders for that.
I really enjoy the spirit of the thread and find myself pulling hard for a tip to come in even when I don't have a financial interest myself eg Tals Carlton Palmer bet.
Anyway , one day I will stumble across a value bet and you lot will be the first to know.
Until then I will probably stay in the background popping up with the odd thank you every now and again.

I did?
Happy days.
So £31 @ what, 10/1, 20/1 was it?
Minted. The lamb, not me.

Big Bash this morning is Hurricanes (10/11) v Renegades (11/10). The Hurricanes have won the last 3 compared to The Renegades losing 3 on the bounce. .
We could do with The Renegades getting a win to put some points between them and The Heat at the bottom after The Heat's win yesterday
With Gayle, Finch, Bravo et al on our side, it's possible.

Anyone who can get on with Coral, they are doing their own thing in this market.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/top-10-finish
West Ham at 11/10 the pick, probably a genuine 8/11-4/5 shot.

Also Palace bottom half finish 9/4.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/to-finish-in-bottom-half
I've just backed Palace 9/4 bottom half and top half at 4/5 on the exchange. 86% book.

Win with 6 overs to spare is cracking for Renegades run-rate also. Sixers could sink like a stone due to injuries, and have to play The Heat, so that's a danger game. Aussie selectors have kindly not picked Lyon for ODI squad so he can play for Sixers, but also didn't select Lynn despite his strong form.
