I struggle to see how Man U are 2/5 (initially I'm thinking they are more like 4/5) tonight against Palace even with Ledley, Bolasie, Ward and Dann out.

I'm going to wait until the teamsheet tonight at 19.00 to possibly come back with a bet. I might have a second look at our team and get a dose of reality but we shall see Smiley

Pardew said he was only gonna rest 1 or 2 for the weekend, not wholesale changes. They should be on a high from the draw at Arsenal, and united are hardly a force these days....

Silly season started last week with Boro at 1/3 away at Bolton.  There will be plenty more of this for the next few weeks.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winner

Another part of the silly season is the firms 'giving it away' greening up their ante post books because it 'suits to lay'.  97.5% book available above if anyone is lucky enough to be able to get on with the firms in question.  Beats your ISA return over a year in under a month.  If anyone wants the 500/1 Hull just to be totally safe i am happy to accommodate for whatever you want.

Suggest £40 at 2.8+ on the double chance Palace and the draw or any other asian handicap or laying of Man U alternative (888sport are 3.3 double chance)

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/man-utd-v-crystal-palace/double-chance

There is an alternative too to go for the asian handicap Palace + 1.25 which is around evens that gets your money back if Palace lose by one if a heftier bet is on the cards but because of my lack of familiarity with it and knowing if the price is great or not I am sticking with the chancier bet.

I think Man U could easily win this but I question the 2/5 heavily. They haven't won games by more than one often recently and are often in quite tight affairs. Palace too have shown good form in their last three of not losing and in the last away to Arsenal we held on well and made the most of a rare chance to equalise.

The Palace team is much changed:

Palace starting XI: Speroni, Kelly, Mariappa, Delaney, Souare; Jedinak, Cabaye, Lee; Zaha, Sako, Adebayor
subs: McCarthy, Dreher, McArthur, Mutch, Puncheon, Campbell, Wickham.

Mariappa and Kelly play for the first time in a long while. Whoever of those two actually plays centre back, basically won't have ever for Palace, as they are often deployed as wing backs, may well add instability. Speroni hasn't played in yonks either. Sako and Lee are often out of games, but the focus of our attacking intent will be with Zaha and Adebayor. We will struggle as we did against Arsenal in the first half without the double Bolasie/Zaha wing threat to get forward on the break and may well offer not much at all. We can hope though that we may keep it solid enough by playing as deep as we do, to maybe nab a set piece chance or a break that might actually be effective.

To the point that Palace have nothing to play for and have an eye on the fa semi on Sunday it is valid enough. However, having watched Palace in the return to the prem it is rare that they don't give a good account of themselves against "bigger" sides even if it is nearing the end of the season, these players are fighting for their places in the semi, and for their futures for next year as i do expect a cull of quite a few of them.

Ultimately Palace could and probably should lose here, I just question the price. I would bet for value at 2.8 or above on the double chance with pleasure, and I am happy it is actually around 3.3. After seeing how United nearly let Villa snatch a draw against them on the weekend, I hope to see a shaky performance out of them tonight.

Too kind. You don't shape up too badly yourself. (Feel that? We are all basking in the cringe factor Smiley)

Just didn't get out of the traps tonight, and would probably been a different story if Delaney didn't score what was an embarrassing og so early on. I still think the bet was value, it was just next level woeful from Palace on the night and Man Utd were not exactly an awesome force by any means. Oh well.

It's one thing trying to find value when you are 9/1 away from home but another in this spot and I couldn't tell you. Sorry.

With effectively a full compliment of players available for selection on Sunday though, I imagine there may be more about us. Weird setting too as a lot of fans may feel a bit of deja vu pre game of the 2013 playoff final, postgame deja vu would be nice, but meh, no view betting wise on it, I am just gonna turn up and try to enjoy it.

Two games away from europe.

I would love to pack my bags for a random away tie out in Moldova or somewhere, the more obscure the better. A man can dream.

Best of luck this weekend. Great chance to get into Europe and maybe a bit of silverware. Enjoy the green man pub before hand if that's been allocated to palace fans, had a great time there before we spanked Bolton 5-0 5 years ago!

I hope it happens for you, Mr Ant, you deserve it.

Good luck this weekend.

Are we?  Thought we rested all the key ones last night unless there are some injuries I haven't heard of over night!?
