Murray's victory at Queens was a significant one for TfT

Not only did it take tennis to +ve lifetime of the thread

it has taken overall profit to £12,129

We still have Karabiner's £5 e/w on Lowry at 125-1 paying six places to come tonight

If that should produce a positive return ROI will rise from its current 6.93% to over 7%

Month to date is +£729

year to date sees 5 positive months out of six and profit of over £3,200, an acceleration of ROI over any prior year despite (or maybe because of) lower volumes

You may have a point there, Tighty.

As Dazzler noted, not bad for a free to view affair. Well done to everyone.

Vegas price on Bale scoring first for Wales tomorrow is absurd

I will have a word with Tighty & Lord Spready, & see if they will help me come up with a little £12k Fred Celebratory Comp. I don't like asking Mere to do everything, he does too much already, but maybe if we leave it a week or two, he'll be agreeable. *

* When I say "agreeable", these things are relative, not sure he's ever agreeable in the literal sense.

Tighty wrote an interesting piece in his "Weekly Article" (free to view) on Betting Emporium about Pinnacle returning to the UK.

Is this likely to happen, & what is the timescale?

I dithered with Pinnacle previously, for all sorts of reasons (scanning documents & all that palaver), but as it gets more & more difficult to get on with traditional FO Firms, Pinnacle might be the answer to our growing headache. Nice headache, like, but it is getting more & more difficult to get our bets on.

Thoughts anyone?

Considering this is free, it's absolutely remarkable.
Well done to all!

Considering we are so restricted, it is pretty special.   These are real bets so we can't pretend we can get £500 on some niche markets or backclaim 70% roi.

In more news, I got a happy farters day card today, given the smile on my 8 year old's face, 0% chance it was a typo.

Agreed, Mere Awkward, who is the Spready arbiter, sees to that. Cant get away with a thing.

Same here, I couldn't be arsed to send them all of the requested scans.

I also have a temperamental printer/scanner too.

May have to do a rethink, I only have a couple of spots to get more than pennies on.

Lowry has just teed off, good luck Ralph, Fred, & all who sail in her.

Not his best tee shot by a long way, but lets get the bad ones out of the way early.

Never in doubt, a nice par to settle the nerves. Horrible knee trembler of a putt, but he nailed it.

Those host broadcaster specks on the screen are making me feel a little liverish.

Smarkets...

Anyone use them?

Thoughts?

https://smarkets.com/welcome/

A lot of my friends who use one of these "profit guaranteed" website always seems to use this website over betfair, whenever i know of a load of people using a website like this i suspect there is value to be had.

Anyone let me know the good the bad the ugly before i sign up.

I have never used them, but the liquidity looks pretty grim.  Nobody wants to back Spain to win the Euros and I can bet £8 max on 4.5, £9 max at 4.4.  Can't put a penny on the F1 world drivers championship, there didn't seem to be a bet I could have on tomorrow's racing etc.  Feels pretty much the same as visiting paddy shower's website after you have been restricted.

NIce bonus for the SDS bet when the third fav for the event is banned for a month.

WILLIAM BUICK had a 15-day ban doubled by the French stewards for offensive behaviour after being found at fault for the fall of Armande in the Prix de Diane at Chantilly on Sunday.

Buick is understood to have accused the stewarding panel of being corrupt, an outburst he apologised for, but for which he would have very likely received an even stiffer punishment.

Buick partnered the Yohann Gourraud-trained Highlands Queen in the Group 1 and was adjudged to have caused interference that affected a number of runners on his outside and resulted in the fall of Pierre-Charles Boudot's mount. Highlands Queen was demoted to last, having finished ninth. Boudot and Armande escaped unharmed.

Godolphin's retained rider was given 15 days for his part in the incident, and a further 15 days for being offensive towards officials.

The ban is due to begin on July 3 - the day after the Coral-Eclipse - and will rule the rider out for the rest of the month, including Newmarket's July meeting, Irish Oaks and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.

It is yet to be established whether Buick will appeal against all or part of the ban.
