Why is that 7/1 better than Vettel to win the race at 10/1. If he beats those 3 doesn't he win the race 80%+ of the time?

Did consider this, went for 7/1 as the safer bet. There are simulations which suggest Lewis & Hulk will pull away with Jenson holding up the rest of the field. If Lewis then retires, Hulk will be in prime position to win the race.

is that view/simulation dependent on intermediate/wet tyres?

wouldn't positions 4-9 go past Jenson on the DRS zones especially run to turn 2 in the dry because of horsepower advantage? thus the field wouldn't get held up here as it would at monaco, hungary, singapore etc?

The simulations do take into consideration the likelihood of precipitation. You're right about the chances of others getting past with DRS, but the data shows the front two could gain up to two seconds for every lap Jenson remains in P3. The start will be crucial, according to my data there is a 7% chance of Jenson leading into T1! The convergence in data has been poor this weekend due to the mixed conditions though.

Johnson beat Dmitrov at 13/10 for Hector. well played

Amazing how dating 2 famous women in 2 years can totally destroy a talented kid's focus on his career.  Modern day poor man's Safin playboy type.

I dunno. He's a multi millionaire and has shagged Serena and Sharipova.

Don't feel too sorry for the fella.

Life time earnings in 8 years of $6.2m and his career as anything other than a top 100 jobber is over.  Hope he enjoyed the good times.  Imagine he has probably blown most of the cash he has made after exs/taxes.  Can't imagine he is set for life living the lifestyle he has become used to in the last 8 years in Monte Carlo.

Being given the nickname 'baby fed' obviously went to his head at an early age.  I don't class shagging Serena as a coup.  I forgot he fucked her actually.  I was thinking of his current pop star squeeze in addition to Maria.

On court earnings will be dwarfed by off court sponsorship deals.

He's made for life.

Where all his sponsorship zillions coming from?  He has made 1 GS semi final in his career.  Appreciate he is good looking, marketable etc but so are the big boys in the game who win as well.  He probably signed a decent Nike deal as a kid but most of that will be results paid surely?

Wehrlein finishes 10th. First ever points.

Interesting end with Rosberg forcing contact on Hamilton. Guess he'll blame lack of grip?

good last lap for us that

turned two losers into winners (Hamilton and Wehrlein) and a profit of £106 on the event

The Verstappen top 3 and Sainz bets were the other winners

I personally made a loss of just under £150 due to Vettel's retirement destroying the spread bet. Nevertheless, I'm delighted the thread made a profit Smiley

There's a sixes bet on the St Kitt v St Lucia t20 game tonight:

under 14.5 @ Coral 7/10
13&over @ B365 1.83

It's not amazing ROI-wise but it's still profitable long term.

Thinking aloud can Pavlyuchenkova really still be 100-1 for the women's title?  Always been talented but mentally questionable.  Just absolutely destroyed Bacsinzsky.

Mere is good on the WTA so interested in this views.  Apologies if odds checker is out of date

I hope you guys are watching the Formula E right now, this is the most bizarre end to a championship ever.

Both Buemi & di Grassi have intentionally made four pit stops each ..

Why did they do that, Peter?

PS - well done on the F1 bets today.

PPS - Was really pleased to see Button finish 6th, but even that was eclipsed by Wehrlein finishing 10th. Presumably, that would be a career high for both Wehrlein, & MRT, including all the previous "Manor" incarnations?

Incredible scenes Peter, what a sweat that Buemi championship bet was. Many thanks for an enjoyable winner. Your confidence was well placed.

I like the idea of a point for the fastest lap, but the notion of the top two in the championship, fifteen laps beyond the leaders of the race, are trying to store enough energy to get the fastest lap, in order that they can get the crucial point flies somewhat in the face of the spirit of racing.

It'd be like the top two in the Premier League playing different teams on the last game of the season and trying to win it on fair play league points.
