shields played Seaham yesterday who were one of the better teams in the league last year and destroyed them. Seam scored 2 worldies but could have been 7 or 8-0 to Shields by all accounts.

Not sure if odds are up yet, but if Shields aren't favourites we should definitely lump. Again they were promoted last season so the bookies may not factor this in the odds, they battered a Scottish team in pre season friendly and were 8-1 pre game.

What colour are they?

Well played Arb. And Fred nicked its 10% off Dartmouth EW. But what an awful race. I'm old enough to remember when the King George was up there with the Arc but that didn't look like more than a decent Group 2. And as for the other six jockeys - I'm having to remember Hanlon's Law: never ascribe to malice what is adequately explained by incompetence.

Thoughts on Rosberg at 2.8 starting from pole?

Could lose pole. With the stewards now after apparently not lifting enough when there were double yellows

Sounds as though the USGA are in charge going by the late decision to investigate.

Possibility of rain too.  Pole on a dry race worth heaps here.

With rain possibly in play, don't think you can back Nico from pole. Pretty sure he isn't 13/8 with a bone dry forecast.

If we assume it's a two horse race, Hamilton at 5/4 feels more out of line. I remember Lewis being much quicker at this track, he can pass him on the first bend or through strategy. With rain, he should easily beat Nico. Only thing is, it isn't a 2 horse race and I have no idea how other teams will run in race mode.

No technical input, but come on Nico!!!

Fred's bully on Dartmouth returned £55, so Tikay wins a GN latté, or 2/3 of a Venetian one Grin

Agree, not necessarily a 2 horse race.

With the possibility of rain, which could jumble things up a treat, is there any angle we can get with the McLarens? Not much prospect of either winning, but their prices are monster big.

I looked earlier.  If they were offering 3 places, I'd be backing both.  Alonso is 11/10 top 6, which feels about right and Button at 7/5 with bwin feels good, but we can't get on?  Neither top 3 price appeals.  I think you have to wait and see the morning forecasts, then pounce if it looks wet.

This is one for Tikay.  Glory days of his youth.  How punting used to be.  Hills and Victor in full flow.  Imagine what these lads would think 70 years on how the game has gone?
