I never get the race even close to correct
However as we know getting five places makes any bets almost certainly good ones
If anyone lucky enough to have a sky ac they are 6 places
Some of the price adjustments for uk horses are horrific though. Eg big orange is 13/1 on the exchange but 8/1 with many of the bookies. Maybe I'll try and suss out the Australians. Hartnell is an old thread favourite. Sure I put him up a couple of times anyway. I was a bit oblivious to what had happened to him until earlier today.

Hartnell was very much a stayer/plodder last year. He must surely have improved a lot though (yet to watch any videos).

Big Orange has apparently made the long trip with no major ill effects according to Michael Bell. Drawn 7, the horse has a decent chance (imo) if Spencer takes up the running - or at least runs close to the pace before taking it up 4f from home.
At 12/1 (evryday) 1/4 even for just 4 places I think this is a decent bet.
I'm already on at this price. I can place another bet for Fred if wanted.

Surely you've just not said "If spencer takes up the running", we all know he's always at the back regardless of horse or race.

Guess you also missed his rides on the same horse this season and last to mention it. I will take 1/2 he is in the front 5 runners after 2 furlongs if you fancy it Aaron?

He's as good a judge of pace as Dettori, and I just wish he'd do it more often so that he gave his horses more of a chance.

This isn't about putting money where my mouth is, but instead frustration that he goes from the back 9/10 times. He's often finishing 2nd by half a length.

Gamblers fallacy
Plenty like the jocks who make a move 3 out get to the front give you a shout but that doesn't work just as much as a judge of pace as spencer

I have no problem if you disagree with my point of view, but there's no need for that. I'll retreat to a safer position now. Thanks

Don't think doubleup was taking the piss, unless I've got the wrong end of the stick.

I'm still trying to figure out the deep meaning of his last post but rest assured you would be in no doubt if he was having a dig.
