Is there a conspiracy to keep my ROI down on Fred?

I know that Tighty's "signing off" post and my FGS overpriced suggestion were posted almost simultaneously yesterday and am just sorry that Fred didn't get on.

No Ralph, not at all. Don't really know how it got missed, but Tighty's just not like that, & it certainly would not have been intentional. I've barely been around all Xmas, as Gill has been down, & I've been busy with UKOPS & Blogging every day all Xmas, so have not had time to assist when Tighty is busy or otherwise engaged. His Daughter has been most unwell for some time now, so life's quite tough for him.

The main thing is not whether Fred gets on, it's putting up good suggestions, then others can decide if they want to climb aboard.

HNY Ralph, & keep the suggestions coming.

That question was considerably tongue-in-cheek Tony as Tighty would need to know what suggestions were going to win in order to not place them.

I hope that makes sense.

HNY

And 5 minutes notice on New Years Eve too.   Great tip tho.

Happy New Year Ralph and all.  Hoping this is another winning year.

TfT Lifetime

Profit £13208
Number of Bets 6157
ROI 7.1%

Top Sports

Football +£5698
Horses +£2262
Misc +£1850
NFL +£1176
Tennis +£1172

I believe Motorsport should be 4th in this list, +£1233?

Quite possibly, Peter, but it does not really matter, it's all good, & I namechecked you earlier this morning.

The Spready is a real headache these days, & Tighty struggles with it due to time constraints, & it's complexity. Mere is a chuffing hard act to follow, too, so please bear that in mind.

Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the work that Tighty (and before him Mere) does. Just had to point it out or my brain would explode. #Pedantic #Perfectionist

Blimey, that brings back memories Ralph.

I was working in a bookies Shop every Saturday, when the ITV 7 was at its peak, and my job was to look after all the multiples, Accas & ITV Sevens.

When a 33/1 shot won the first, dear old Dickie Davies would hoot & holler "GREAT start to the ITV7, £34 running on after the first race", when the truth was, I was frantically & happily scrubbing a line through 99% of the slips.

Think I'd have in excess of 1,000 slips to work through, & it was rare that more than 20 or 30 would survive beyond Race 3.

Fast forward nearly 50 years, & the Bookies are still making most of their money from Accas, exotics & the like.

Forgot this change was happening.  Feel like I should have watched channel 4 depart.  Has been a big part of my life the last 32 years.

Now we have today's program and a huge gap until the next one at the Cheltenham festival?  Doesn't feel like a bright new future though guess I can tune into ITV4 or wherever it is.

Closure for a few of our NFL bets today, as it's the last weekend of the regular season.

Minnesota Vikings to win the NFC North (£50 @ 2/1)

This is the division:

Green Bay 9-6
Detroit 9-6
Minnesota 7-8

Chicago 3-12

Goose cooked, eaten, the leftovers have been turned in to sangers...

Arizona Cardinals to win the Super Bowl (£20 @ 12/1)

They can no longer make the playoffs.

San Francisco 49ers to have the NFL's worst record (£50 @ 7/1)

A brutal Sunday last week on this one, where the Browns beat San Diego, only for the 49ers to follow that with a win of their own.

The 49ers are due to sack their head coach and their General Manager after today. They should be sacked for winning last weekend, frankly, in a situation where it has probably cost them the number one overall pick.

For us to win this bet, Cleveland will have to win against Playoff participants Pittsburgh Steelers, who will be resting a few players. It's not impossible, but we're relying on Pittsburgh being rubbish and Cleveland both being competent and actually trying to win. And we know how much Fred loves trebles...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers total points over 350.5 (£22 @ 10/11)

Scores in 15 games:

31
7
32
7
17
34
24
28
36
19
14
28
16
20
24

337 points after 15 games, meaning we need 14 points today to win. This is a home game against divisional rival the Carolina Panthers.

Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh Steelers) to get the most receiving yards (£50 @ 9/2)

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=RECEIVING&conference=null&season=2016&seasonType=REG&d-447263-s=RECEIVING_YARDS&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-n=1

4th and within touching distance, but Brown will be rested today against Cleveland, so this one is done.

David Johnson (Arizona Cardinals) to have the most rushing yards (£25 each way (1,2,3, 1/4) at 18/1)

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?seasonType=REG&d-447263-n=1&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-p=1&d-447263-s=RUSHING_YARDS&tabSeq=0&season=2016&Submit=Go&experience=&archive=false&statisticCategory=RUSHING&conference=null&qualified=false

Elliott is off into the distance for first, so it is place money only.

2. Bell 1268
3. Murray 1266
4. McCoy 1257
5. Johnson 1233
6. Ajayi 1213

Of those, Bell won't play and Ajayi is likely to be rested for some of the game, as both teams are in the playoffs. The other three all have nothing to play for, so your guess is as good as mine.

I'd venture that 90 yards gets us in contention. Johnson plays away in Los Angeles.

Atlanta Falcons to win the Super Bowl (£25 each way at 20/1 1,2 1/2)

Results have gone our way on this one. This means a win at home against the New Orleans Saints (who have travelled poorly this season) will secure a playoff bye and a home game in a fortnight's time.

Overall

We have two good sweats today, one where we are favourites (Tampa points) and one where we are underdogs (Johnson yards). We have an outsider's chance of a great day with the 49ers. Wouldn't that be lovely?

I got a PM from Tikay saying "we miss your Rubbish". I'm pretty sure it should have read "we miss you Rubbish"?

Anyhow, I think it praiseworthy that a young sportsman who left a strife torn country, came to these shores with no English, excelled in his sport, won titles, gold medals, reached number one in his profession and fulfilled a lifelong dream has been recognised and honoured along with Britains other sporting greats.

Names Dafydd Howells and you can get 9/1 Corals, 8/1 a host of other sites for first try scorer in the Dragons - Ospreys match. £10 each way. He's scored six in nine games and is getting better each start.

p.s. Tikay didn't pm me but I posted anyway. Hopefully others will as well.

It's going to be exactly the same as Channel4 but different - there's even a new style morning line on Saturdays hosted by MC Yeeha.

Calm down dear.

Was surprised to see ITV racing next week is on ITV4 while ITV1 has a old film Kindergarten cop and a show about Morecombe & Wise on. Even lower viewing figures guaranteed?

I forgot to mention that ITV's racing team also includes the delectable Lucy Verasamy
