Are we back on the Watford value bet trail again this weekend?

Away at Everton. Everton have been pretty toothless. Watched the Leicester game and whilst they had plenty of the ball in second half, they wouldn't have scored now if they were still playing.

Best price 14/5 with Unibet. Generally 13/5 elsewhere.

Looks a nice bit of value. Recommend £25 bet.

EDIT : Any love for Burnley at Soton? Generally 11/2, up to 6/1. Looks big too?  Like Burnley 1-0 win at 14/1.

Liking both of those.

Didn't one of our resident Watford fans say they set up better playing away from home? All the pressure is on Everton, and its a quick turnaround from playing on Thursday night.

Surprised to see Burnley as big as they are. Their away form is infinitely better than last season, gave us a decent game at Eastlands for 70 minutes the other weekend. Southampton are improving but hardly pulling up any trees.

Watford Everton v Watford Winner
13/5
Total Stake: £25.00
Potential Returns: £90.00

Burnley at Southampton?

Southampton 9 goals in 9 games conceded 10. been a season and a half under two managers of not scoring many

Burnley 9 goals in 9 games conceded 9,  play 4-5-1 with two holding midfielders away from home.solid as a rock

Has the feel of 0-0 1-1 (or maybe your 1-0 either way) doesn't it?

u2.5 is 8/13 fwiw (not a rec)

We all love a season long bet don't we? How about one for the college basketball? I'll caveat this by saying I'm a fan of the team I'm proposing to have a bet one so bear that in mind. However, the Wichita State Shockers have been one of the best teams in college hoops over the past four years, but have always been underrated due playing in the weak Mountain Valley Conference. Invariably, come March Madness they have drawn a hugely tough route to the title game based on strength of schedule. As a result, in three of the last four they've ended up losing to the team that went on to be champs or were beaten finalists in the title game, all in close affairs. This year, they've countered that strength of schedule issue by moving conferences to the AAC, a much more respected conference with a better quality of opponent. This will benefit them greatly come selection Saturday in March.

That is all well and good but the real reason I like the bet is that last year they had an extremely young roster, with none of the 5 starters being seniors, and all of those players (plus their three best bench players)return for another season. That consistency is very rare in the college game where players graduate or move onto the draft each year, so the familiarity with the coach's system and the intuition of knowing each team mates game promises to be a big advantage. Allied to this, they have one of the best coaches in the college game in Gregg Marshall, whom a number of pro teams have tried, unsuccessfully, to pry away from Wichita in the past few years.

They are priced at 25/1 pre-season by Hills and PP which I think is value, a view supported by ESPN's algorithm which has them as a 10/1 favourite (http://www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/shockwaves/article182104431.html).

Recommend £25 @ 25/1 for the National Title with Hills.

First question, how does a mild mannered chap from Brighton come to support the Wichita State Shockers?

Jumped on the bandwagon during their historic unbeaten run to the National Tournament in 2014, truth be known. I'd imagine (and hope) there are a good few Leicester fans scattered in some far flung places for a similar reason!

Following on from the recommendation to back Watford at Goodison:

Everton look just awful, and there are no signs of any improvement under Unsworth. They never looked remotely near scoring at Lyon, and they capitulated easily in that game and also against Leicester. Even if they get a relegation escape specialist on board (“Big Sam, this tape will self-destruct in 30 seconds”), there won’t be enough cash in January to dramatically improve the squad. The burden on the Europa League games has been far too heavy (as it has been in the past), and whilst they won’t be involved for much longer, the damage has already been done.

Sigurdson got himself sent off for the second time this season at Lyons, but tbh he hasn’t really looked like he’s up for it, and there’s a distinct absense of the Dogs of War that they will definitely need to get out of the relegation zone. If Rooney hasn’t been able to work any morale boosting magic in the dressing room by now, then I don’t think he’ll be able to anytime in the future.

There really does seem to be a fatalistic air of defeat among the team, and their confidence deflates as fast as a burst balloon when they go a goal down.

At 10’s in places and 8’s generally, Everton to be relegated is a recommended £20 bet.

Observations from watching them live

No pace in the team

Centre backs combined age 78, yet wanted to play a high line

Rooney played in behind a lone striker and the attacking pace was soporific

The young lad who came on at half time into holding midfield, surname began with B, looked excellent. A Kante type

Will throw the question of a relegation bet open to other opinions

First thing a new guy should do is play those talented kids! Lookman etc

Chalobah has had a good drift, since his injury, to make the 2018 WC Squad and is now 6-1 across the board.

He's due back before the new year and there's no question Southgate has a lob on for him. As long as he's fit and playing ok come next spring, he'll get in imo.

Good name.

Campbell Fighting Camels still wins for me. All I see is Keith storming the stage at a UB40 gig.

I think Lascelles at 14s(ish) is a decent bet as well.
