O'Sullivan in scintillating form again.
And again, this evening.
Not often John Higgins finds himself 4-0 down.
Probably backed it, if he watched the afternoon session.
Ha, thought someone would say that.
It's weird, I don't genuinely dislike many folks, but whenever I see Higgns I sort of see a flashback to that video of him in the hotel room, and I can't bring myself to forgive him. (How long ago was that?).
He seems to have been rehabilitated within the game though.
He's an amazingly good player for his age though, he's 42.

I was never really a fan of his, even before that. I only met him a couple times, but he was always gave off a moody vibe. That said, he was young then, so can forgive everyone being stroppy as a youngster
I can't even remember when it was, which is pretty bad. Must have been a fair while ago, because I was still reading newspapers!

Fair play to ITV, too.
Nobody covers sport worse than ITV, and they reached a new low with Ed Chamberlain and their horse racing coverage which is thoroughly dire.
They are covering this beautifully though. The graphics are not overdone, and the commentary team is as good as it gets, but special mention for McManus and the doyen of them all, Clive Everton.
It beggars belief that the BBC dropped Clive Everton in favour of the buffoon Virgo.

McManus is the Magnus Carlsen of co-commentators. Tony Romo has a poster of him on his bedroom wall.

Yes but where's the cue ball going?

Not many will remember him, (except Uncle Ralph) but back in the day, the best snooker commentating team was Clive Everton and a chap by the name of Jack Karnhem.
Jack was superb.
"Good luck mate" became his sort of signature, after he said it when Thorburn was on the last black of the first televised 147.

I get a cob on just thinking about that.

Oh how I loved my snooker years.
How often did you play in your hayday Tony?

6-0, finishing with three back to back centuries.
It's a privilege to be able to watch him.

7 nights a week, plus Saturday morning, and I'd bunk off work most afternoons if I could swing it. I was managing a project in Arnold, Nottingham (the Home Brewery, now a Sainsbury I believe) so I would visit that site around lunchtime, then slide off to Lenton Abbey Snooker Club.
We played all night on a Friday, too, there was a Midnight Handicap so that often went on until 5 or 6am.
Loved the game, the only drawback is that I was utterly hopeless.

Haha! I bunked off work for about 5 years.
The North Midland Snooker Club was unique in my experience. 10 tables always in action, every one a cash game.
All games were strictly money down, it had to be put into the yellow pocket before the balls were broken, absolutely no no credit.
There was a power cut one day and the whole place was plunged into darkness, 30 seconds later to lights came back on to find 20 men all with a hand in the yellow bag.

You bastards!
I bunked off work for about twenty years and started my *illustrious* career in the snooker hall on the second floor opposite the Windmill Theatre in Soho.
My regular money games back then were six reds for 'roons - tosheroons - also known as half-a-crown or 2/6d in old money.
