There is some value in the ATP Auckland that starts tonight. Hubert Hurckaz is a young Pole with some notable scalps on hard courts. The only people above him in the market are a clay courter, a dodgy Russian, and Shaparov  ( who Hurckaz beat twice last season). The Pole has already shown good form this season by winning all 3 singles at the ATP cup, so at 9 to 1 I have backed him e/w.

Good shout.

I quite like Dan Evans at 12s aswell in the other tourney this week for his debut title.

Two very wide open fields as is often the case directly before a grand slam

Good to see you back here hector.

I've had a mini-dabble on our Polish friend who I believe plays his first round at 00.25 tonight.

HNY Charlie - I too am aboard the good ship Hurckaz.

Bugger, I missed a Sunday sweat, I feel almost cheated now.

Good news though.

Unless I've got it round my neck (again...) hector's Polish friend Mr Hurckaz won again early this morning. (6-2, 7-6).

Think that puts him in the last 8.

You are right Mr T. He plays Lopez tomorrow morning about 7am ish. The dodgy Russian is out as well which is good news. This is almost like back in the old days. All we need now is a Tighty daily report, and Sonour's trip report from visiting all the bookies to get on.

Wink

If only, that would be the best thing ever.

Still, let's not be greedy, we have a sweat.

Saw this on Twitter today.

The top three seeds at the men's Australian Open at the start of the last decade are the same top three seeds at the start of the new decade... Any other sports where three players have dominated so much in 10 years?

That is an incredible stat and shows how physically and mentally strong they are recovering year after year.  Murray literally ruined his career training himself into the ground to try and keep up with them.

Our tennis sweat eventually kicked off (teed off?, drove off? hit off?) at about 0730 UK time this morning, & nice Poland Bloke currently leads horrible Spanish Bloke after taking the first set 6-4.

I believe Polish Bloke won 6-4, 6-7 6-4.
