We lost, & for extra rubs, we were beaten by a CESM.
Fun sweat though.

For the first time in a while, I have a suggestion for the thread.
Mitch Evans to win the Santiago ePrix with Bet365 at 11/10
.
Mitch qualified on pole position quite comfortably by 0.228 seconds in group qualifying, and then 0.275 seconds in super pole. That's a large margin and it's pretty clear he is a step ahead of the field this weekend. From the way he was handling the car through practice, I knew he was going to be strong this weekend and I did look for markets before qualifying, but none were available. I don't see why this should be priced over EVS with such a clear pace advantage.
Recommend 30 points.
Race starts at 19:00 UK time.

Evans finished 3rd. He got underway well and looked in control of the race up until the halfway point. A bizarre strategy call by Jaguar to use both attack modes early didn't help, but actually that didn't matter for the bet as Evans really dropped off the pace in the latter half of the race. Not really sure why, I can only imagine he was struggling with battery temperatures.

Not sure if anyone has seen these before but there's a site called Chess24 where all the top players have joined. Magnus Carlsen, Tal's favourite, has loads of videos on you tube from there where he demolishes various Grand Masters as if they were three year olds. In the one below he pays against a guy without looking at the board. By all accounts this isn't too difficult for the top players?
I learned how to play chess when I was young but haven't played as an adult. I think I have a grasp of the fundamentals though but in some of the videos I have to pause the end shot and still am unsure how he has beaten them. Some of the games are three minutes long and the speed he thinks at towards the end of these matches is like watching a cyborg. Also, he explains what he is doing although I couldn't keep up with that either.
Anyhow, if you want to watch someone at the top of their game make the top players look stupid then watch a few of these.

Extraordinary. Some seriously clever folks play chess it seems.
It all ended so quickly too.

That was the last time i had a game i think about 10 when i had to cheat and move a piece when i was heads up with my younger brother in the junior school chess final when he went to the toilet. I knew then i wasn't very good at it and have never played since!

Guy only had 10 seconds left on his clock. Some of the videos where he has 20 seconds left and says "plenty of time to win this" then moves the pieces around at such speed you have to have the settings at 0.5 time frames to see what he is doing.
