Stephen Chidwick now 3 handed going for the first British Bracelet of the summer

Not sure if anyone knows Chidwick, but he plays all the big stuff with a very low profile

Yet, his record is superb...

$3m won online http://www.pocketfives.com/profiles/stevie444/

This is now his 11th WSOP Cash http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=97716

Event 27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.
Day 4 completed
Ylon Schwartz Wins His First Bracelet! ($267,081)

For the past four days, Event #27 $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. of the 2012 World Series of Poker unfolded as a starting field of 889 players played down until just one remained. That man was Ylon Schwartz, who outlasted 17 other players on Day 3 to capture his first gold bracelet and the $267,081 first-place prize.

Today was Day 4 of this three-day event, and the finalists returned bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Chidwick was the short stack left, and he was the first to bow out. It was Omaha Hi/Lo when he fell, going to war with Schwartz on a {7-Spades} {9-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} board. Chidwick had already put 500,000 of his chips into the pot, leaving just 135,000 back. Schwartz made the river bet, and Chidwick tanked for ages before committing himself. The cards were turned up, and it was bad news for the one at-risk.

Chidwick: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {10-Spades}
Schwartz: {7-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts}

The straight for Schwartz was the winner, and that left he and Chiu heads-up for the bracelet. Chiu was facing a chip deficit to start the duel, but he wasted no time drawing the match nearly square.

Nearly was as close as he'd get though. Chiu lost a monster pot during the Stud round to all but end the match. Here are the boards the two players went with on the deciding hand:

Chiu: (x-x) / {2-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} / (x)
Schwartz: (x-x) / {3-Clubs} {4-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Hearts} / (x)

Schwartz called bets on fourth and fifth, but he raised on sixth. Chiu reraised, but Schwartz came right back with the fourth bet, drawing a curious look from his opponent. Chiu flatted that bet and another one on sixth. On seventh, Schwartz got in a sneaky check-raise, and when Chiu called, he revealed {K-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} in the hole. Quads!

Chiu was reduced to just 200,000 chips — one big bet — and the match was over within minutes.

Event 27 $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. Final Table Results

Event 28: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em - Four-Handed
Day 3 completed
Congratulations to Timothy Adams, Winner of Event 28, $2,500 NLH Four-Handed ($392,476)

The third and final day of Event 28, $2,500 No Limit Hold’em Four-Handed, of the World Series of Poker has come to an end. After returning with eight players only Timothy Adams walked away with $392,476 and his first WSOP gold bracelet.

It took less than one full level to trim the field to five and move to the ESPN Feature Table in the Amazon Room. Andrey Gulyy, Toan Trinh and Torrey Reily were all short stacked and looked to double up. But their luck didn’t hold and they missed out on the final table.

The players played about a level and a half before the next elimination would occur. Brendon Rubie opened for 33,000 and Greg Merson shoved behind him. Rubie called holding {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} and Merson had {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. Rubie paired his queen on the turn and Merson never improved, sending him home in fifth place.

Anthony Gregg had been on short stack for all of Day 3 after enjoying some time in the chip lead on Day 2. He made his final stand by shoving preflop with {A-Spades} {3-Clubs} and Rubie called with pocket deuces. Gregg never improved his hand and exited in fourth place.

During three-handed play Timothy Adams scored a sick double up. Adams opened for 48,000, Brendon Rubie raised to 112,000 and Adams called. The flop came {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}, Rubie checked, Adams bet 201,000 and Rubie check-raised to 976,000. Adams tank-shoved and Rubie called. Adams held {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} and Rubie had {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}. The board completed {Q-Hearts} {2-Clubs} and Adams took the chip lead.

The third place finisher was determined when Adams and James Schaaf each put 48,000 in preflop and the board came {Q-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts}. Schaaf check-called the flop and the {Q-Clubs} came on the turn. Both players checked to the {Q-Spades} river. Schaaf bet 175,000, Adams put him all in and Schaaf called. Schaaf tabled pocket fours but Adams had him beat holding pocket tens.

Heads up play covered three levels of action and it was a slow affair. Rubie and Adams traded small pots back and forth, mostly min-raising or betting twice the minimum.

The last hand occurred when Rubie opened for 80,000 on the button and Adams raised to 225,000. Rubie called and the flop fell {8-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}. Adams led out with 255,000 and Rubie called to see the {5-Spades} turn. Adams moved all in and
Rubie went deep into the tank. Rubie called after a few minutes, only to face bad news. Rubie tabled {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts} and Adams held {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. The {A-Spades} fell on the river, shipping the match and the bracelet to Adams.

Final Table Payouts

Place   Player   Prize
1   Timothy Adams   $392,476
2   Brendon Rubie   $242,458
3   James Schaaf   $164,823
4   Anthony Gregg   $114,711

Event 29: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship
Day 2 completed

Day two has just finished and the hopefuls will return tomorrow where a winner will be crowned. Kevin DeTienne came out as today’s chip leader, bagging 1,325,000. With 462 players returning for the day only 33 came out the other side. The money bubble was burst early during the first level of the day and the rest of the day saw a consistent flow of people being eliminated.

Marcel Luske had a yo-yo of a day that ended with him making his exit late. Humberto Brenes, Hal Lubarsky, and Toto Leonidas all left early also.

Event 30: $1,500 2-7 Draw Lowball
Day 2 completed
Cantu Clear Leader Heading to the Final Table of Event 30: $1,500 2-7 Draw Lowball

Event 30: $1,500 2-7 Draw Lowball played down to a final table today from the 66 that started at 2:00 PM. The field was star-studded from the off and it’ll be no different heading into the final table tomorrow. Brandon Cantu came into today as one of the biggest stacks and ended the day as clear chip leader.

Michael Mizrachi won a huge pot right at the beginning of the day and used his chip prowess to apply pressure all day long, before late slide saw him drop back to third spot. He did set the final table though when he knocked out John Pham in 8th place.

Cantu had a very similar day too, and for a while took over the chip lead from Mizrachi, before it was wrestled back off him. Cantu finished super-strong and regained it in the last hour of play. His aggressive style worked well in this No-Limit format and when he needed hands he found hands, and when he didn’t, he drew very well.

Cantu knocked out Bryan Devonshire in 9th, Leo Margets in 22nd, and also Galen Hall in 32nd. Other notable players who cashed included, Stuart Rutter, (10th), Erik Seidel (13th), Jennifer Harman (19th), Scott Fischman (25th), and David Sklansky (33rd).

Those not so lucky to even cash today included Liv Boeree, Michael Binger, Ted Forrest, Bryce Yockey, Michael Watson, Greg Raymer, and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. None was more unlucky than Todd Bryson, the bubble boy. He was one of the many who failed to overcome Cantu in a hand.

Play resumes at 2:00 PM tomorrow on the secondary feature table in the Pavilion room. Here’s how the final seven players players will line up tomorrow:

Seat   Player   Chip Count
1   Erick Lindgren   185,600
2   Ryan Tepen   51,100
3   Rep Porter   233,400
4   Brandon Cantu   336,100
5   Michael Mizrachi   206,800
6   Andrew Lichtenberger   161,100
7   Larry Wright   116,200

Stuart Rutter finished 10th for $5,955

Event 29: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship
Day 3 completed
Day Three Ends With Phillips on Top

Day 3 has come to an end, and only four players remain. The plan was to finish tonight, but the decision was made and all four players will return tomorrow at 12:00 PM to finish it out.

Dennis Phillips possesses the chip lead with 5,335,000 and spent his day climbing back from the brink of elimination. Eventually after winning enough hands he overtook the lead and now looks to be in prime position to claim his first World Series of Poker bracelet.

Second in chips is Bob Phelps who spent his day acquiring chips and becoming the fan favorite to the crowd. Phelps sky rocketed to the top of the counts after he delivered the knock-out blow to William Stabler.

Third in chips is Hoyt Corkins who has been short stacked for the majority of the day, finding few spots but making the most of them. Corkins has quietly stayed around the entire day, rarely saying a word and raking in a pot every so often.

Bagging the least of the four was Allyn Jaffrey Shulman who had some big moments through out the day, knocking out Stuart Spear and doubling up when she needed to.
