Another fruitless weekend, where the only good news is we are dumping another two of Mr Wengers top class signings, Gervinho and Chamakh.
I am happy to see the chaff go, but at this rate we won't have a starting team!
Also interesting to note the "genuis" that is Wenger, still hasn't worked out how to contain the old man Drogba even after 10 long years of him putting us through the grinder

Can't imagine who described him like that.....
Containing Drogba, even in his twilight years, was a task that frustrated most Managers. His goals per game ratio, at the highest level, is proof enough.

Used to think it myself Tikay.
I tried to think if Ferguson ever had a similar problem with a particular striker over a long period but really struggled to think of anyone. He always used the info gathered to neutralise the threat over time, but we always have issues with the same players each year.
The closer the season gets and the more Mr W, scares me witless by stating he still feels we can be contenders with the existing squad.
Every dog has its day, and the skill is recognising when that is day is over.

You are right, Fergie was very good at that, as befits the greatest Manager of our time, by a long chalk. Fair to say also that Drogba did better against Arsenal than any other club.
For balance, though, Drogba scored the winning goal against Team Fergie in the 2007 FA Cup Final, & more famously, against Fergie's lads in the Champions League in 2011.

I still think Wenger is excellent. Develops players, guarantess Champ League footie and creates attacking teams on a relatively small budget. What's not to like?

Would Arsenal fans rather have Mancini?

Mancini won the league for City. Did a bad job though in terms of building a legacy though? They can only get away with it because the chap from the Gulf can pump in another £100 million for Pellegrini to revamp Mancini's team?

No league cup medal obv!!
I with you, a lesser manager taking Arsenal through the last few years of transition and they would be fighting Liverpool for 7th.

I just hope that Wenger is playing some footballing version of possum, and just as he is about to get lynched, buys Rooney, Suarez, Bales and Fabregas, and then has to say "sorry Lionel, yes, I know we look great, but now I really am spent out....maybe next year"

I hope all of the naysayers were watching today's final pre-season game.
Excellent performance against most pundit's "strongest squad in the premiership".
