It's true that Wenger should stand by what he said in 2009, he must take responsibility, however I can't help but feel in the future he and the club will be vindicated.

"This season has not been disastrous at all," he added. "One day you will look back and say it was not as bad as people thought.
"But the most important thing is that, structure-wise, the club is in a fantastic situation.
"We have built a massive new stadium and maintained this club at the top, top level in Europe and I'm very proud of that. The future of this club is great."

Football will eventually eat itself and will have to start again, the league cannot be sustained by 4 or 5 big clubs. Eventually it will become a level playing field and Arsenal may prove to be in the best position with or without Wenger.

Can see both sides but imo Wenger hasn't set out what he would have liked to have achieved and he has to shoulder some of that responsibility surely?

Yep thats great. A fans viewpoint. At least I have Wengers' own mission statement and Paul Scholes on my side Wink

Its like watching your favourite dog, unable to fetch the paper any more, or the comedian that used to make you howl with laughter, no longer funny. Shit happens, we get old, things don't work as well.

Things were once great, lets just make sure we leave with our head held high and with a modicum of respect, not just flog the dead horse til everyone hates you.

you can pick anyone in the world to replace Wenger at end of the season.

Free choice. Who do you take?

And now, realistically?

AW doesn't need replacing, he just needs to admit he needs to sign some players every now and then.  He's too bloody stubborn is the issue.  He is a fantastic manager, just won't spend.

Why is that a level? Realistic. Plays the Arsenal way. Might spend some dough

If Arsenal were to look for a new manager they should try for De boer and bergkamp

I know that it appears to be an insurmountable obstacle due to his having sold his shares to Usmanov but I would love to see David Dein back at Arsene's side.

just looking at his record tbh. I obviously (like everyone else) have no special knowledge, but he does have a record of leaving clubs under a cloud.
