I know it's last years offering but still worth another listen

These are usually dire.
This is an exception, pretty funny.

This Southampton result was a long time coming. Arsenal were fortunate in pretty much every game in December - they could have lost by more vs Stoke, didn't deserve to beat Southampton (at home), the Newcastle score flattered them (although they deserved the 3 points), QPR should have had a late penalty against them, West Ham wrongly had a goal ruled out, and we all know what they deserved against Liverpool (imagine what the score would have been if Flamini had been sent off in the 1st half as he should have done). Another month the 13 points they got could easily have been 5 or 6. I doubt any PL team will have a luckier month this season
They played well for the 2nd half against Newcastle and for the last 30 minutes against Stoke but aside from that they've been really poor the last 5 weeks

Poor start to the year all round.
Not only do we look awful, we lose. 5pur2 beat Chelsea in a way we have forgotten how to. And with Mr Ws lack of ideas, I doubt we will again, until we get a new Boss.

I'd have settled for six points out of nine before the Xmas schedule started, and after the recent round of injuries and Giroud's suspension I'd have jumped at it.
The "Wenger Out" brigade are boringly predictable.

You might just have got away with it. Quit whilst you are ahead, imo, the football boys are a tough audience.

Ha! you're probably right Ralph.
To counter that though, you sound like the head of a large business that has made him a very rich man.
The business was once successful, but it didn't move with the times, and despite winning the odd medium sized contract, it is no longer the force it was. The Boss refuses to rationalize or see that some of his loyal staff are no longer top salesmen, but the Boss is blind to it, as he is a loyal man.
Slowly they lose their position in the market place. The Boss still digs his heels in and refuses to recruit new staff. Seeing his current staff still working hard in the office every day, he can't sack them. They sound great on the phone, and in the daily summary meetings everyone is really positive. Everyone loves the Boss because he loves them. Its cosy.
Meanwhile the market has innovated and the Boss is oblivious to it. New staff won't move there, as the techniques are outdated. Ok, the money is good, but this is an industry where you want to be at the top. Yeah, you get invited the the industry awards night every year, and see your name in the programme. But you never win anything.
Its comfy, but you know if you are ever to win that big industry award, the Boss probably needs to retire. so the company can move with the times.
It may upset the conservative man in accounts, who has been with the Boss since day 1, but deep down, he knows its time too.

Meh - players will always join Arsenal. London location, high pay and large stadium/following.

The top players?
Haven't Arsenal missed out on a few top tier players in the last few seasons who have gone to other clubs?

They did - but I think that was more Wenger not wanting to pay the absurd wages. If Arsenal relax the wage structure then they are still as attractive as anyone in England I think.

I don't disagree btw and have much empathy for Arsenal's recent plight but I also admire their stance on the economics but they do need to do something different they can't stand still.
