Another summer of signing 'jobbers' relative to the big boys.  Nothing changes.  Wenger out.

Some very nice words here from Calum Chambers about Per Mertesacker:

Thought this was a really good read about what Arsenal need this summer. Written by an a Arsenal fan (and site owner) who used to work for Matthew Benhem at Brentford in player recruitment. http://statsbomb.com/2017/06/reloading-the-arsenal-a-summer-transfer-shopping-spree/

Arsenal are very close to signing Alexandre Lacazette for a new club-record fee if J-M Aulas's latest denial is to be believed.

WOB's are now slagging off Lacazette left right and centre before the vast majority of them have even seen him kick a ball.

I would respectfully suggest that the Arsenal fanbase has more than it's fair share of malcontents.

MARTIN SAMUEL: Arsenal are as divided as ever... a new striker will NOT fix that http://dailym.ai/2sxz41S

haven't read it yet, but looks provocative

Only time will tell - but AW usually gets it right when he spends big.

Can't deny the efficiency of this one. We found a player we wanted, actually paid what was necessary, and he signed in good time. Very un-Arsenal but well done Wenger.

In this age of inflated transfer fees, this one actually seems relatively sensible given Lacazette's age, experience and previous body of work.
