Hi all,

UKIPT Edinburgh is fast approaching at the the swanky Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh. I thought it was important to clarify in advance buy-in options for this event as there has been confusion at previous UKIPT events held outside of a casino.

As with previous UKIPT Edinburgh events due to license restrictions this event is CASHLESS which means we will not be able to accept cash under any circumstances on site at the venue.

We are offering the following buy-in options:

PokerStars Online - Buy-ins for ALL events are now available by using your PokerStars account. All events are listed under 'Events > More > UKIPT'

PokerStars Onsite - We will have a registration team on-site who will be able to register you for events using your PS account funds should you wish.

Dusk Till Dawn - Dusk Till Dawn are accepting buy-ins at their Cash Desk and via their Online Shop for the Main Event, High Roller and £330 2 day Event

http://www.dtdshop.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=17&vmcchk=1

PLEASE NOTE IF YOU NEED TO BUY-IN USING CASH THEN DUSK TILL DAWN IS CURRENTLY THE ONLY OPTION

The full schedule is now available on the website:

http://www.ukipt.com/tournaments/edinburgh/

As per usual Day 1B will be extremely busy and the venue only has a limited capacity so choose your starting day early if this is particularly important to you.

Any questions feel free to ask.

You will be able to buy however many 'UKIPT Edinburgh £50 Re-Buy Cards' you think you may require at the registration desk before/during the event using funds from your PS account.

If you do not use all the cards you bought then simply exchange them at any point during UKIPT Edinburgh and your account will be re-credited with the relevant amount.

Each card will be individually numbered and can only be used by the player who purchased the re-buy.

A little complicated but seemed to be the only way around it and we felt it was important to have local satellites before the event to the ME and HR.

Didn't this used to be in August, same times as the fringe festival? If so, shame its not anymore.

Smack next to - in fact part of - Edinburgh Waverley, which is the UK's 2nd largest railway station.

The Balmoral is utterly splendid, too. You can take Afternoon Tea in the Gentleman's Lounge whilst a harpist struts their stuff, on a real harp. Don't get that in a Days Inn.

Yes it was and it is a shame.

Feedback from players indicated that the majority would much prefer a city centre location plus a time of year when alternative accommodation wasn't sky high. We think Edinburgh still has a lot to offer any time of year and The Balmoral is situated in a stunning location.

There is no on-site parking as the hotel is central (they have secure parking for £27 but that is crazy), I believe there is an NCP close and there is also a large car park at Waverley Station (2 min walk to the hotel). Mon-Fri these car parks are expensive however but the station car park does £4.50 per day at the weekend. However, the best option remains public transport if this is at all possible.

Is there going to be any special online sats on the run up? or just the usual 1-2 seat guaranteed?

Hi,

All the remaining UKIPT Edinburgh satellites are available to view in the PokerStars client - there is a 3 Seat Guaranteed £44 Freezeout tomorrow at 20:02 but we have not planned any mega satellites as such (we also have two live £50 rebuy satellites at The Balmoral on 16th at 20:00 and 17th at 18:00).

We have well in excess of 370 pre-registered players the event at the moment and Day 1B availability is now extremely limited. As no one has every held a poker event at The Balmoral before we are not 100% certain on the maximum number of tables the venue can accommodate and will therefore cap each start day at a number we absolutely know we can accommodate before hopefully releasing extra seats should the venue size allow although this is not guaranteed by any means.
