Flanders underway. A good chance of rain by the sound of it.

Magnus Backstedt in the box.

Geraint Thomas & Vanmarcke have already hit the deck today. Vansummeren & Elmiger out due to heavy crashes.

I can't remember so many horrible crashes, just down to so many riders fighting for position.

The Vansummern crash is mental. The poor woman spectator is critical in hospital.

Awesome Cancellara, a tactically perfect race from him. Legend.

What a brilliant race, Cancellara just sublime, Flanders & Paris-Roubaix double looking very possible.

Roubaix has a lot to live up to if it's gonna be a better race than Flanders!

Only caught the laste stages, did anyone see what happened to Matti Breschel?  Was he caught up in one of the crashes or did he just not have the legs?  I know a lot of the Tinkoff team were caught in crashes.

EDIT

Just seen this on Team website:

Of course, I’m really impressed by Nicki who stepped up in a big way after both Benna and Matti crashed out of the race. The rest of the guys did a good job until the finale and Nicki constantly fell in and out of the group of favorites and showed a lot of heart out there knowing that he was the last man standing on the team. AS far as we know, they (Bennati&Breschel) haven’t suffered any fractures

Tinkoff-Saxo had dreadful luck.

Stijn Devolder crashed three times, yet kept on battling to the finish. One of the rides of the day.

Richie Porte is out of the Giro and will focus on the Tour. Wiggins is set to lead Sky at Paris-Roubaix.

Who will lead Sky at the Giro?
