For those sick of the old man getting all the fun gigs.....

All professionalism aside, posting that after a couple of sherbets and on the escalator down to the tube was pretty fookin' tricky. Is there any easier way than the old photobucket square brackets image nonsense?

At last. Next Tuesday at Huntingdon sees the UK debut of Bingo D'Olivate in the 1.10pm. It's a novice hurdle race and Noel Williams expects James Banks will ride. It's a first UK run out after a year of recovery and the aim is a gentle run out and not to get to knocked about. Huntingdon should and will attract some decent horses and it will be a good yardstick to see what we have got. I share ownership with 5 others and the slightest hint of success could see the start of another ridiculous obsession. Unfortunately I am holed up in London so will be watching it in a bookies with the boy and we hope to follow the race with drinks and lunch at Quaglinos. ( well if you cannot be there you have to overcompensate).

I've tied a knot in my handkerchief and will be keeping a keen eye on him during the race.

Let's hope he has a nice clean round and comes home safe and sound.

That will do for the first run out. It's more about the whole experience for a novice. He has actually run once in France and came a strong second to an even stronger experienced horse so we know he knows how to race and jump and get round a course. However he is recovering from an injury......The trainer apparently thinks we have a live one but apparently that's what trainers always say to new owners. Well,to any owners I imagine. One of the co owners first horse was Katchit which went on to be a Triumph Hurdle winner at Cheltenham so hopefully we can have a bit of run good.....

Yes Wesnesday are filling us all with hope. The new manager seems a top guy, good signings, good vibe etc A little like you are experiencing at Leicester! Mind you, 'I can cope with the disappointment,it's the hope that kills me'

Katchit was one of my all-time favourites. I loved that little horse and especially his refusal to be bullied .

I'll never forget that time he got bumped by a bigger horse(most of them were in truth)on the turn for home at Cheltenham and he got the right needle, grabbed hold of the bit and charged up the hill to win as he often did there.

Here's to Katchit and hoping for another.

       Minor Setback.

Apparently Bingo has "spread a plate" and trodden on a stone....the result is a small bruise on his foot and he's sore. The result is he won't be declared for tomorrow's race and of course won't therefore run. Current thinking is to go back to Huntingdon on Saturday 21st November. So there you go,just when the excitement was reaching a fever pitch we may have to wait a few more days for the UK debut of this fine steed.
