Jason Duval Wins Event #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em ($521,202)
Jason Duval - 1st Place.
After about two hours of heads-up play, Jason Duval defeated Majid Yahyaei on this hand, when Yahyaei, perhaps sensing his opponent held a flush draw, called off his stack with queen-high. Unfortunately for Yahyaei, his opponent had a queen-high flush draw with a higher kicker, and Yahyaei didn't improve.
Duval claimed the World Series of Poker gold bracelet and more than half a million dollars in prize money after outlasting a field of 2,115, while Yahyaei's consolation prize was $324,442. Duval, who recorded his second career six-figure cash after placing third in a WPT event for just under $200,000 this spring, pulled off the rare feat of winning a tournament after being the Day 1 chipleader.
Sixteen players survived to Day 3, and the biggest name by far was TJ Cloutier, who fell short of his 40th career WSOP final table when he busted in 13th. Pace of play was fast, as it took just over three hours for the field to be whittled down to the final table. Once there, well-known online player Dan "Wretchy" Martin busted in sixth shortly after being crippled by a huge two-outer courtesy of Day 2 chipleader Masayuki Nagata. Nagata wound up finishing third.

The 2013 World Series of Poker has almost hit its halfway point and so far there have been no British or Irish winners. However, there have been several final table appearances and a couple of second place finishes, too.
in the money finishes of our players from Event 18-26.
Event Player Position Prize
18 Tamer Kamel 20 $10,046
18 John Payne 42 $6,784
18 Sam Grafton 106 $2,320
18 Thomas Brady 142 $2,087
18 Guy Ellis 146 $2,087
18 Najib Kamand 171 $2,087
20 Stephen Chidwick 6 $43,120
20 Kim Sherlin 44 $5,913
20 James Bord 109 $2,600
21 Rhys Jones 16 $19,475
21 Sam Grafton 59 $6,455
22 James Park 3 $108,196
22 David Colin 11 $15,756
22 Christopher Brammer 29 $7,050
22 Richard Ashby 52 $5,091
22 Alex Lindop 110 $2,621
22 Ross Boatman 113 $2,621
23 Matthew Ashton 7 $18,266
24 Daniel Cascado 2 $267,452
24 Zimnan Ziyard 7 $54,191
24 Gareth Teatum 8 $41,198
24 Christopher O’Donnell 34 $10,328
24 David Tighe 77 $4,533
24 Alexander Lee 89 $3,972
24 Najib Kamand 101 $3,178
26 Yucel Eminoglu 61 $8,448
26 Donnacha O’Dea 114 $3,411
26 Stephen Littlejohn 292 $2,498
As you can see from the above table, our players have been racking up the cashes for fun and we have had a number of sweats for that elusive first WSOP bracelet of the summer. Stephen Chidwick finished sixth in Event #20, while James Park came closer still in Event #22 where he finished in third spot.
Matthew Ashton reached yet another final table of a non-Hold'em event when he finished seventh in Event #23. There were three Brits on the final table of Event #24, yet that piece of poker jewellery stayed out of reach. Yorkshireman Gareth Teatum finished eighth, EPT Loutraki champion Zimnan Ziyard crashed out in eighth and Daniel Cascado lost heads-up to finish in second place.
There are still over 30 events to play out
