walking around i decide to watch Abert Sapiano's table for a bit. Usually a guarantee of a bit of action

he calls three raises in the row, folding on flops to multi-way action

then dave barnes raises to 1600 UTG at 300-600

Albert Sapiano calls in late position

Paul McTaggart calls in the cut off

Lee Brooks calls in the small blind

check to Barnes who leads for 2,500

Sapiano and McTaggart call

Barnes 4,500

Sapiano and McTaggart call

Barnes 7,000

Both fold

Barnes flips

at the very front of the building Arpad Demeter is wearing Team sky poker gear and opens to 1,500 UTG

Darren Craven 3,500

this on a table with greg hill, chaz chattha and rob white

Demeter calls

Demeter check calls 3,800

two spades

check check

Demeter leads for 10,000

Craven then thinks...and thinks....

he looks demeter up and down, he gets 10,000 ready to call

Quite amusingly (to me, i'm easily amused) three seats in a row at the table lean forward to look at what he is calling with and then lean back in unison as craven has a double think

eventually he does call

Demeter shows  and Craven mucks with a scowl

on an 8-6-2 A-5 board Chris Vernon loses a 20,000 pot to Alan Stearn

Stearn has flopped a set of sixes against Kings

presumably (i arrived mid pot, flustered) the ace on the turn prevented more damage for Vernon

They are on a table with Jlian Thew, Danny Laming and Ballymorechris Dowling

which is a toughie

--

from a distance (i know i am sylph-like but i have no chance of getting up to the inner tables on the top tier yet) there look to be two really good tables

45    1    Daniel Morgan
45    2    Aaron Wilson
45    3    Richard Blacklock
45    4    Matthew Copley
45    5    Richard Hawes
45    6    Waseem Ahmed
45    7    Michael Kane
45    8    Richard Kellett
45    9    Jack Allen
45    10    Neil Channing

46    1    Graeme Cairns
46    2    Lee Harling
46    3    James Parker
46    4    Harry Lodge
46    5    Marc Wright
46    6    Darren Jarvis
46    7    Osman Mustanoglu
46    8    Luigi Viscomi
46    9    Thomas Ambler
46    10    Kevin Williams

both look great, hopefully won't break too early and i can watch a bit later

Glenn's useless! Jack on the turn not an ace,  and I check called 5k on te river!

i take the opportunity to play along with tikay, and you can too...

Jonathon Wroe raises on the button to 800 at 200-400

tikay on the button lets me peek at

my excitement is palpable

He might not fold

He raises to 2,125

in the big blind Keith Christie flats, and Wroe folds

the flop comes

"i will check to the aggressor" says Christie

(player notes need updating)

so you are tikay...check or bet?

Bet.  Tikay check folded ?

tikay checked

the turn came a blank, a middling diamond

Mr Christie bet

tikay folded

Mr Christie showed Ace-king off

caption competition?

the story behind the photo is the gentleman's name is Peter Brankin. 82 years old. an online qualifier

knocked out today first, with Aces

tikay was a sympathetic cloth capped listener..
That's Mick Atkin , lives in Stapleford , known him for years , a regular at the old Gala Casino in Nottingham.

He never plays online , doubt if he owns a computer.

Didn't realise Mick was still alive, one of the old Gala regs in the rebuy comps, definitely lol at qualifying online! Smiley
