The current attitude of [X] to immigration is...

Conservatives:
Too strict: 21%
Not strict enough: 44%
About right: 15%

Labour:
Too strict: 3%
Not strict enough: 48%
About right: 24%

via @YouGov

That's really interesting

Interesting that YouGov is a Conservative organisation and it perfectly fits their narrative. Just looks extremely unreliable to me.

Maybe, i suppose it depends if they weighted the poll to the illiberal working class 'traditional' labour voter from  Birmingham up or labour luvvies dahn sahf with jobs and houses. Most Tories I know are pretty liberal when they're not shooting foxes and stuff

Lord Patten on Jacob Rees-Mogg comments about the Lords "playing with fire",

"I'll tell you what playing with fire is - blundering into Northern Ireland with a policy which is clueless and deluded with a can of petrol and a box of matches in the other hand"

So, 1 year & 43 weeks after EU referendum, with 300 days until UK becomes a third country under EU law, Government can’t decide between 2 options already rejected by the other side of the negotiation, and not backed by business, and for which it may not get Parliamentary support

The Chief Whip has told Cabinet colleagues that the government DOES NOT have the vote to defeat a customs union amendment

The Brexiteers might have a majority in the inner cabinet but they don't have one in the Commons or among EU members

the key point!

In a ComRes poll shortly after the Brexit Referendum in July 2016 just 35% of Leave voters expected to leave the single market

89% expected limits to free movement; poss not realising it's a condition of the single market!

Yesterday the 3 big srories were

1. TSB computer failure
2. NHS breast cancer computer problems
3. NI brexit problems going to be solved by computers and BLOCKCHAIN

Do politicians even believe the words they say?
