I think it’s fair comment that say the Tories are doing their best to fuck up any negotiations.

May is in an almost impossible position. If only she had a 70-80 majority she could tell some of the wasters in the party to stfu but that isn’t going to happen. At some point very soon she is going to have to bite the bullet though.

Even if the Tories get a semi credible plan together, I think the EU want to play hard ball. They can’t be seen to cave in and even though doing a deal makes sense for all parties economically, you get the feeling the EU is privately shitting themselves. If we make a success of being independent of the EU, it will only lead to voters in other EU countries potentially wanting to follow the same path. Sometimes momentum can gather and the whole EU project would fall apart.

I still think some fudged position/deal will be agreed but time will tell.

Pretending there are positives in leaving the EU under a clueless minority government is just delusional. If you had to guess who is most knowledgeable on this subject out of you, Woodsey and Tighty. Who would you go for? Perhaps more interestingly, who would everyone else go for?

I know who the people who will drive this country forward the most post Brexit, it will be those with a positive mindset that make things happen, not the negative nellies who can’t find positives to say about many things.

Tighty’s the best at posting doom and gloom links for sure!

100% genuinely if I saw positive news I would post it up. I follow and read all sorts and pop up hundreds of links

There is hardly any.

I agree with much of this

UK and Leavers especially underestimated EU determination to give us the least attractive deal as msg to other nations open to leave..

Then the election campaign was terrible, the majority was lost and now she is completely stuck with the DUP and EU reform group effectively the make or break of her minority govt  and not allowing her to break her red lines

Hence the much higher possibility of no deal.

Shouldn’t we attempt to limit the damage before we address who leads the recovery? I think we all now accept there’ll be f***loads of damage? You and Mantis leading the recovery, interesting times ahead then :-). There’s a good book called ‘Candide’ written about 250 years ago, probably worth a read for the simpletons.

No, I’ll let the whiners get all frothed up about that right now, all I can see happening is whiners including those in govt sticking their oar in and making the job of getting a deal harder. I’ll wait till the deals done and see where we stand after that.

I think 2 very successful people in the corporate game helping the companies they work for be successful and pay a ton of tax are going to do more to take this country forward that a civil service whiner.....

Somehow, May has got to get the Tories behind one plan.

What angers me is when some of these tossers let their egos get in the way of common sense. It’s the old story of human nature and the way being in power makes otherwise smart individuals make huge mistakes. It happens in all parties.

The likes of Gove and Johnson are just delusional tossers. Same goes for the Defence Secretary telling May to give defence another £20bn or he’d bring her down. Total scumbag.

Good leaders would use the force of personality and charisma to win the day. That isn’t going to happen with May.

So, your job only exists to funnel money from the NHS in to the pockets of rich private individuals. I do the job of about 1.6 people in public service, thank you austerity. Sadly it’s impossible to do that much work to the standard I would like and our country suffers because of it, thankfully I love the work. One of us is a terrible c*** and a simpleton. Oh, you get paid a little more money than I do...:-), it’s almost like you’re the winner:-)

Calling people on here a terrible c*** and simpleton is bang out of order.

Sounds like you have some sort of victim mentality as well as some weird idea that you are morally more superior than others.

Just no need for it. Get over yourself ffs.

I honestly don’t mind mate. I know there are rules here, but it’s water off a ducks back to me so if he wants to get stuck in I don’t really care.

I referred to dealing with consistency of insults on another thread but it wasn’t about me per se, more about one side v the other. But personally I don’t really care.....

Edit- Just seen your post above Richard, I honestly don’t care about stuff flung my way. But feel free to pull me up when I cross the line no probs  Smiley

Ok. What is there positive? Facts, not hopes...Irish Border solution? Customs solution? Avoiding a no deal exit?

Give it your best shot.

It was a Long shot two years ago but a series of unforced errors (red lines, botched early election, early notification of A50 with no plan) have left it unworkable without severe economic shocks

we will become more self-sufficient, buy British more frequently. Industries like farming will be more innovative. Think it will overall stimulate more pride in the country, which has been sadly lacking in recent years. Our businesses will become more resourceful and reach out to new markets through the need to be more competitive. We will definitely have more control, which was a pressing issue for many. New relationships, new rules, sense of freedom. We will be the trailblazers that other nations currently in the EU will definitely follow.

Sure there will be economic shocks, which will be felt throughout the EU. But when the French are burning tyres and the Spanish sleeping in the afternoon Great Britian will simply keep calm and carry on, our spirit being best positioned to deal with adversity when compared to jonny foreigner. And what a great lesson the EU will be teaching all the people of Europe with their petty bollocks, sure will make those leaders popular.
