So people are aware

Jared O'Meara sacked all his staff

https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/politics/sheffield-mp-jared-omara-sacks-all-of-his-staff-and-locks-them-out-of-his-office-39681

may well have recruited Gareth Arnold. as he is mentioned here

https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/politics/its-just-not-good-enough-mums-anger-after-sheffield-hallam-mp-jared-omara-cancels-three-meetings-486078

There seems little doubt that Gareth is unpleasant

https://twitter.com/garetharnolduk

There is a lot of history appearing, which suggests he wasn't the greatest choice to be comms director for a left wing MP

Piers Morgan seems to be correct

https://twitter.com/piersmorgan/status/1153764867624456197

On the other side Jared has a worse attendence record, and has done less for his constituents, than Nigel Farage.

If people want to carry this on, please consider that Jared O'Meara has previously stated he has made 3 suicide attempts, has some serious mental health issues and has cerebral palsy.  It appears he may also have addiction issues.

Clearly a terrible MP, but probably needs a better support network than Gareth.

I found that a rather strange post Doobs.

Especially the “if people want to carry this on” comment.

Whatever his personal issues (and of course he should get help), he put himself forward for a high profile position as a public servant where his behaviour and ability to serve constituents will be tested in the full glare of public/press scrutiny.

Given his past history, lack of experience etc, it is crazy that he got the Labour Party supported him running in the first place. His comments have offended numerous people.

Unfortunately, the people in this constituency deserve better.

Hi Rick

Just pointing out that the person who started this pile on seems to be a fairly unpleasant character.  It just left a bad taste in my mouth that his "friend" seems to have rocked up in his life, worked for him for a couple of months then thrown him under the bus.  It is particularly unsavory as your MP seems in a bad place. I wish I hadn't added to the pile on.  I thought it was good to put some background out there, so people could make better judgements about Jared O'Mara and the reliability of his "comms" team.  Read the links and do a bit of googling on Gareth if you still think this is exactly as presented this morning.

As stated above, he is clearly a terrible MP.  In addition, he should never have been selected as an MP, should never have been taken back in by the labour party etc, but too late for that.

Fair comment Doobs. I’m sure you’re right about the guy he appointed being a nasty piece of work. A right old mess overall.

Yesterday was an absolute corker

A slashing reshuffle carried out with efficiency, to a plan and leaving no one in any doubt as to the direction of things.

Lets crack on.

We all remember Dominic don't we? played by Cumberbatch in the Brexit film

Now No 10 adviser. Breathtakingly clever, breathtakingly difficult to work with!

a clear sign that the vote leave team are in place to try to deliver what they campaigned for

"Boris Johnson’s decision to hire Dominic Cummings is more than controversial – it’s dangerous."

The point of all this is that the team that brought you Brexit is being reassembled to finish the job.

One lobby reporter said

"Tory MPs are astonished by Johnson’s brutal reshuffle. One ex-minister says it’s “unbelievable” and predicts a general election in “late October.” They add: “He’s convinced that a battle is coming and this is a war Cabinet.”

Boris Johnson supporter tells Nick Watts of Newsnight "This is a bloodbath. I hope he knows what he is doing. I don’t like it"

In a couple of respects, the plans to open the taps, borrow more and put it into schools and hospitals, pus the appointment of minorities into major positions is designed to head Corbyn off at the path. For the former Corbyn's spend policies were a big hit in the 17 campaign. Austerity is now coming to an end

Doesn't appear to matter that we now have a home secretary who was fired for misconduct in public office

Or an education secretary who was sacked two months ago for breaching the OSA, albeit now in a position where he doesn't get any sensitive intelligence briefings

More Cummings

"Dominic Cummings might be a chaotic force within Number 10 but he has previously described Brexit as a "train wreck", said triggering A50 too early was like "putting a gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger" and called David Davis "thick as mince and lazy as a toad"

:-)

Here is an extract from his classic rant last year

Yes I had to look up metastasising

Aaron is quite right about Boris being a racist.

Sure, people might say he sacked off white cabinet members, replacing top jobs of Chancellor/Home Secretary with Javid and Patel.

But don’t forget he is a liar too so these are just the actions of a weird racist liar.

Did you expect him to live upto what everyone thinks of him? It’s the perfect opportunity for him to be seen as the opposite.

This is a Vote Leave government now. There will be no one else to blame | Jonathan Freedland

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jul/24/boris-johnson-brexiters-government-no-one-else-to-blame

Objectively, think this is correct. Let the architects be at the centre of the mess

But, in reality, they’ll find others to blame and those who believe in Brexit will go for it: hook, line & sinker. We see it on here already

the Telegraph on No Deal...

"Such a course might be a positive shock of Schumpeterian creative destruction for the British economy - indeed, I think it would be -  but the destruction would come first."

Fascinating piece, this...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2019/07/24/advice-comrade-boris-never-ever-try-bluff-eu/

We all remember Schumpeter i am sure. early 20th century economist, Schumpeter believed that entrepreneurs set this process of creative destruction in motion. Entrepreneurs were the disruptive economic force that maintained and fed economic growth.

so echoes of the disaster capitalism of JRM and others today

so lets wrap up by heading to a couple of scenarios

This first comes from ths

"In the past week the percentage of 2017 Tory voters switching to Lib Dem has DOUBLED from 7% to 14%.

Comes in wake of Swinson and Johnson’s leadership victories.

Can’t help thinking this er... new-look government might hasten the exodus.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/brexit-party-voters-return-to-tory-fold-cmrqdl8c9

----

So 1

Major winners of this reshuffle: The Liberal Democrats.

Cabinet shake-up positions the Tories as 100% the party of 'do or die' Brexit.

Labour still confusing on Brexit. (only yestrday a spokesman said "we are not a party of remain", McDonnell was confusing on Peston)

Clears the way for Jo Swinson to hoover up the vote of every Remainer in the country. I exaggerate but they should clean up. Might be a very powerful force in any post election negotiations if no majority

So

Scenario 1. Remain Nirvana

- General election in Oct

- Brexit Extension until Mar2020

- An anti-Tory coalition/confidence and supply government

- A deal agreed with the EU by Dec19 and goes through parliament attached to a Peoples Vote

- A Peoples vote; Remain v Brexit deal early Mar20

Scenario 2 We're leaving

- Boris pact with Brexit Party.

- General election in Oct

- Brexit Extension until Mar 2020 because of that

- Run a very populist campaign a la trump with lots of pump priming of economy end of austerity promised

- Boris gets a majority, removes parliamentary logjam, once last chance to see if that gets the EU to blink (he will finally have some leverage by having a majority that they know will mean no deal passes). If not no deal and out

Take your pick

Exactly mate, a skilled racist liar can give important jobs to minority groups, even have an interracial marriage with mixed race kids just for show. But they would still be a racist and we would know the real truth underneath.
