I used to date this girl who had a problem with me playing golf at the weekend. I'd work hard all week and then when Saturday rolled around me and a few mates would hit the course, 18 holes in the sunshine and a few pints in the clubhouse afterwards, abs bliss!! But she be like "You're gone for most of the day" or "Thought we could go shopping instead". I'm like "No love I really like the way Saturday works right now".

In the end I said enough is enough and things aren't working out etc so it's time to take a break. Well guess what? Playing golf was suddenly no problem at all!

I love all this doomsday nonsense with the EU. People think that if we leave Europe our bridges are burned forever?? Nah mate. They will prob offer us the world to stay or if conditions change we will be free to re-join at any stage. If Europe say we will never be welcome back then it's abs the right decision to make our excuses and leave this Franco-Germ dictatorship. Big wide world out there fellas!!

The PM privately tells Juncker that the referendum is intended to lock us in

Juncker is either foolish or wants the UK out.   How can spouting this do anything other than antagonise people and make them more likely to vote out?

Important ECJ ruling slaps down the ECB who wanted to restrict London as a centre of Eurocentric forex.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/11450580/The-court-ruling-that-proves-Britain-still-has-power-inside-the-EU.html

That's the kind of thing that may well not have been the case if we were to leave the EU (or, it could be more easily regulated by ECB if not introduced directly)

If germany wanted to rule us they should have tried harder in the wars.

Seriously thought, just read what the Sun says to do, then do the opposite.

Interesting take. Makes some strong points, especially the bit about this being a decision about 'who you are'.

Also, I'm aware I promised a longer post on EU post Brexit or post a vote to stay. That's coming, been slammed at work.

Tomorrow I'm in Munich and looking forward to talking to 'ordinary Germans' who I suspect are far more worried about Grexit than Brexit.

I really enjoyed the General Election Thread on here and I know people still post on it - wouldn't it be better to have a thread devoted to politics generally?

Perhaps it may create more interest and debate on current issues?

Some really interesting and diverse views on here that educate us all.

Might be more useful than a thread titled General Election 2015.

Agreed.  Politics going to get very interesting soon if Corbyn wins.  Proper debates and not just different shades of the same viewpoint.

What are the real odds, in your opinion, of Corbyn winning.

Or could we rename the general election thread?

Not to shit on your idea as you are spot on, just the general election thread was one of the best ones ever on Blonde and would be nice to preserve the legacy etc.
