Take Corbyn out of the picture, as he's just the figurehead for all the issues at present, but it's this sort of thing which is fundamentally what's making Labour unelectable to the wider general public.  It now once again looks like a party that's being run by union leaders, which is a massive turn-off for the floating voters that ultimately decide which party gets to govern.

Given that it took from 1983 until 1997 to get over this previously, how long is it going to take until Labour are trusted enough again?  Given the changing political landscape in that time (e.g. SNP dominating Scotland) I'm struggling to see how it ever happens, and it would certainly require some form of coalition to win power.

Truly depressing stuff for non-Tory supporters.

Given tomorrow is Brexit day - I wonder what other news will be announced very quietly so as not to be seen, I see 1% pay rise for the NHS staff is floating about and channel 4 may get timetable for sale.

YouGov/Times:

CON 43 (+2)
LAB 25 (=)
LD 11 (=)
UKIP 10 (-2)
OTH 10 (-1)

26th-27th Mar N=1,957

on a "who do you prefer to lead the country?" question, Labour respinders prefer May to Corbyn...

this is a fun one

Brexit select committee chairman Hilary Benn prepares a 155 page report with very gloomy conclusions.

Brexiteers on the committee, don't like it, walk out, won't allow it to be presented

Brexit irony: it's teaching politicians how much the UK needs immigrants.

David Mundell says no talks on ref until "brexit process" complete - could include transitional measures & "significant" implementation time

After transition and implementation time - that could mean kicking another independence into the long (long) grass

crucially 2021,say,takes it beyond the next scottish elections
