Sigh....really terrible reply speech by Corbyn.

A chance to appear statesman like, positive, supportive of getting a good deal, coming together etc....but still asking the right probing questions to TM.

Blew it.....again.

The journey begins to transform Great Britain into an independent sovereign nation. How exciting.

Hopefully now this is settled we can support our team of negotiators and stop talking the nation down.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Theresa May didn't call a general election before triggering A50.

She isn't allowed under the fixed term parliaments act.  I think she would need Labour support to call one early.

I know this, but what opposition wouldn't agree to an early election?

Many exciting times ahead that's for sure. We need some of those motivational memes that are always appearing on Facebook about how change is a good thing and we should leap in to the unknown to make a better future. I should be able to nick a few of some of my 'remain' friends walls.

One that has absolutely no chance of winning?

An election can come about if a motion of no confidence is passed.  It would clearly be an advantage to force the government to vote that it had no confidence in itself, if it wanted an election.

Public more likely to think conditions set out in Labour's 6 Brexit tests would be nice to have, but not essential
