"I believe there’s a lot to learn by reading Das Kapital," says john mcdonnell on Marr as he refuses to rule out if he's a Marxist

next Tory election poster written then

Thought I heard him say he wasn't a Marxist, which surprised me (hence I remembered it)

So Labour are proposing an increase in income tax for those earning £80k a year to pay for improvements to the NHS. Maybe Corbyn would like to explain why they decided on that figure and not say £70k. Am I being too cynical in thinking that MP's salaries of £74,962 might have something to do with it.

£80,000 is rich these days

I think the £80k figure was chosen because it's the top 5% of earners (?)

If that's the case then I would have thought that's the reason it was chosen - plus, top 5% of earners seems like a fairly reasonable definition of rich (although top 10% or top 25% would probably also work for that)

"Theresa May's Team" is at an Asian community centre in Harrow waiting for the PM to speak

Sure I read on twitter over the weekend that the Conservatives expected majority had fallen from 100 to 50 or so, and that it was now in the balance.

Surely we can make bazillions here?

Although it's the logical extreme of where British politics has gone since Blair..I hate this personalising of politics

The Conservatives are running newspaper ads talking up Jeremy Corbyn's chances of winning: (need to ensure their vote gets out)
