Keith, I really think you're panic is over exagerrated.  I can't see a situation were UKIP get over 25 seats.

Further, we are not going to have guns legalised in this country anytime soon.  The Biggest threat to NHS privatisation was TTIP, being out the EU guards against that, regardless of how much the Tories want to sell it off.

I can't see the death penalty ever being in force in the UK again, there was a reason why it was got rid of in the first place.  If there was a fail safe way to prove guilt 100% there are occasions when I don't think the death penalty is a bad move.

The majority of people in this country support the death penalty.

It's an extremely populist policy which UKIP could easily include which would be garner lots of support in areas where they did very well last week.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-32061822

This would suggest differently.  I don't know that the death penalty would act as a deterrent but I'd be happy to see it used for Rapists and Paedos and of course murder were there is irrefutable evidence.  The problem is, I don't have enough confidence in the cops for this never to go wrong.

Birmingham 6 and Guildford 4 would be long dead before the evidence that they were innocent came to light.

Not even going into the ethical arguments against the death penalty but killing one innocent man is so unthinkable that 1000 guilty ones should live before that happens.

What's happened to rationally debated politics thread? In my mind it's like Brexit discontent has now caused fighting to break out at a women's institute tea party. We walk in to find the tea trolley on the floor, camel and red-dog covered in Victoria sponge.

I don't know about 1000 guilty ones living to protect the life of one innocent person.  But the 2 cases mentioned substantiate my point.

I'm thinking folk like Brady/Hindley/West etc were they showed no remorse and in effect taunted their victims.

Due to a lack of trade negotiators, Brexit Britain will need to hire immigrants for the job.
