Any ideas on who will get top roles? Chancellor for example. She seems to have a lot of allies. Chris Grayling ran her campaign and was for Brexit so maybe him?

This might sound a silly question but does it look like Osborne wants to stay Chancellor? He's been proactive (as he should be) in trying to manage the post Brexit consequences, today in US trying to influence investors etc.

May and Osborne don't get on, by all accounts.

Described on Sky earlier as 'adversaries'.

It will be intriguing to see who ends up where in the new cabinet, and how much of this morning's speech becomes anything more than typical politician campaigning waffle.

Credit where it's due though, they get things done swiftly and efficiently when it comes to leadership changes (even the full-length version of this would have been swift, in comparison to the Labour process).  Now they can sit back and watch the Labour Party unravel further over whatever timescale this saga will ultimately take.

What's next for Labour then? Is there some sort of predictable timeline with what happens next now that Eagles has officially announced she is going for it?

If Corbyn gets blocked by NEC Tuesday and it gets ratified after legal action that he needs 51 nominations , I envisage other candidates come forward and Eagle will disappear. If Corbyn gets on the ballot, see it as Eagle vs Corbyn and a bloody mess until September.

Labour is 7pts lower than it's ever been after 9 months of a new leader while in opposition: http://bit.ly/28S3sr3

Andrew Neil ‏@afneil

If Mrs May tempted to call election she'll need Labour MPs to vote for it to get 66% of Commons. Would they dare?

Jim Waterson ‏@jimwaterson

Angela Eagle on Sky News: "I'll support any calls for a general election"

(((Dan Hodges))) ‏@DPJHodges

If the next election is Theresa May v Jeremy Corbyn there is no floor to Labour's vote share. 25%. 20%. Anything's possible.

NEW: Poll puts Labour 8% behind the Conservatives, as Labour calls for snap election. http://polho.me/29JN5xH

Senior Labour figure told me that Corbyn would be on the ballot "whatever the legal advice" to the NEC. http://bit.ly/29sxsJt

Jim Waterson ‏@jimwaterson

Angela Eagle was so very unlucky with her launch timing: Only made the BBC 6pm news at 6.16pm and even then the audio track was cracking up.
