You miss my point Tom.
Never been to the golf and stood around applauding people who have been given a freebie.
Nor the Footy
Nor the racing- bar Royal Ascot
I could go on.
Why Tennis?

Anyway Mr Mere, why only ladies tennis? (Apart from the obvious thrill of the super slow-motion replays)

Shut up now Ralph. You're turning Mere's excellent thread into a farce.
Quite so.
Actually, as I'm sure you are aware, I'm pleased to get any feedback at all.
Mere, let me put decorum and convention aside for a moment and admit publicly that I love you.
Your second ever post sealed the deal for me. I love self depreciation, perhaps that's because I'm personally so bad at it. (One there for the purists)

Thankyou.
It's not even a great picture of me
(Actually there are no great pictures of me).
I read all your stuff but it's usually so far above my head that I find it difficult to make a serious contribution.
I wish I knew more about you though. For instance, have you always been so organised?
Wow, thank you Tom.
That's very flattering. The feeling is mutual.
You obviously have a very good memory; I have no recollection of that post.
With regard to my being organised, anyone that I have ever worked with would laugh out loud if they read that. Successive bosses have tried (and failed) to improve my organisational and time-keeping skills. I fear that the strain of the fruitless challenge has sent some to an early retirement.
Apologies for the delay in replying; I was having a problem trying to find my laptop.

I just find ladies to be nicer, in so many ways.

The trade term is, I believe,
fit for purpose

Player serves.
Return whooshes past the server for a clean winner.
Can the server challenge that he thought his serve was out?

Yes, I've seen it done several times.
In theory, it shouldn't be allowed since the challenge should be in a "timely manner" but that is rarely enforced. I've often seen players have a discussion with their coach before challenging.
Harrumph.

I don't really know enough about Tennis to understand the value angles, but I can't help but think this is a certain match to go over the game totals I fully expect Coco to take at least one set.
