No full English at Heathrow +2 pints of Guinness this year.
No diet is worth this sacrifice pre Vegas flight.

End of the second six-week period, weighed in this morning.
14st4lb, 25% body fat, metabolic age 53. Pleasing results off the back of a Vegas trip. Stayed disciplined out there, ate sensibly and poker results were better for it. Could easily have done another week on top of the ten days, when I'm normally ready to be anywhere else but Vegas.
New six-week bet now running against the same opposition (1-1 the current score). Looking to get down to 13st10lb, <22% body fat and under 50 metabolic age. Gogogogo.

Great going Chompy.
Out of interest what's your actual age? Also how is the metabolic age calculated?
Have you made any changes to your training and diet or still sticking to what's worked so far? I assume at some point your intake and calorie burning will level out but do you know roughly what weight that might be at?

Little bench press update from me....
Had a fantastic day yesterday and beat recent PRs for singles both raw and with the slingshot on.
137.5kg single is tentatively close to 3 plates and it moved fast with a good long pause. I was tempted with 140kg but decided to go conservative and make sure I hit it especially as last week I tried 140 and failed.
Hit an all time PR with the slingshot on at 150kg. Most I've ever done is 145kg I think and this felt surprisingly easy. It's good to get this one the bar ready for when I go heavier raw as it should stop me getting that 'oh shit what have I done' feeling as soon as I un-rack anything heavy.
There have been a few technique tweaks that I think have helped also I'm happily injury free at the moment. The shoulder and arm are a bit niggly but they don't affect me one bit so I'll class it as injury free. This means that I'm able to train arms for the first time in months which has the knock on effect of making them stronger and less likely to get injured again when I lift heavy.
Food intake is really good and I've started having a huge carb load on Friday before benching Saturday. The carb load involves a chicken kebab and plate full of chips..... These are the small sacrifices we have to make if we want to get stronger

Tyty.
Will be eligible for senior tournaments later ths year, so the metabolic age is still higher than my actual age. I'll get there though.
Not sure how it's worked out exactly but the machine at the gym breaks everything down. It's a stand-on-the-metal-pads-hold-the-handles thing that shows bone weight in each arm and leg, fat weight in the same, total water % and other stuff. The masseuse I'm up against lost 12 years off her metabolic age in six weeks, thanks to ten PT sessions and cutting out t'booze.
My gym routine is pretty much the same. I can't do a lot more gym-wise until I get my breathing sorted. Had a bunch of breathing tests done at Papworth last week and hopefully a different antibiotic will sort it, then I can really go for it. Circuit training, sessions with a PT, swimming etc.
Rowing and 20m bike trips have done the trick so far though.
Back to Vegas this week. Need to keep eating right and hit the gym a few times. It's a different casino this trip, so using a different gym will help. The one at Bally's is pretty naff.
13st7lb is the end goal. If I can get there when I hit 50 that'll work.

Second Vegas trip was less disciplined but been back a few weeks and back on track.
14st1lb, 23.1% body fat, metabolic age 46. Lovely scenes. Next USA trip is 3 September. Target is to get <22% body fat before I hit the land of BBQ and corn bread.

Some tekkers are good. Nice work, Chompy!
I've not been to the gym in the 3 weeks I've been back, but almost caught up with work, and going to start chucking the 2.5kg dumbbells around again shortly.
Going out to Vegas for 2 1/2 weeks in Dec, so will have some form of target worked out once I start back again.

Update time )and a slight brag....)
Finally got 3 plates on the bar for the bench press last week and repeated it again this week for two singles. That's a huge mental block smashed so I can now start sticking those little plates on and try to push towards the next milestone of 150kg.
Did a set of 5 with 120kg on which I was really happy with and also a triple at 125kg which are both PRs.
Best thing about all this is that I'm carrying a pretty shitty shoulder and elbow injury which are really giving me grief. I can fight through it but it does sting a bit so hopefully when it clears up I can push some good numbers.
I've been eating like a horse recently which has helped the strength a lot. Gone from around 98kg up to 106kg at the moment with a few kg to go before I look at trimming down again. I'm hoping the strength doesn't sap too much when I cut again but I'll make the most of it while I'm carrying some timber.
How's everyone else?
