Redknapp just made a great point about Spurs acting like a big four club but spending like a mid table club with their transfer tactics under Levy. I think they really are miles behind the big 5 now and in real danger this season of being swamped by a number of the solid mid table sides if they are not careful.

of course, but i might suggest that many Arsenal fans are unhappy.
not just the lovely piers morgan
yet they will still turn up to the games, buy the merch etc etc
and they are being taken advantage of in this football financial environment because the club has them over a barrel, a football fan will never vote with his feet in sufficient numbers to make a difference

Arsenal fans are unhappy? What, like Sunderland, Newcastle, and Liverpool fans?
It really does not matter if the fans are happy. Leave the business to the businessmen, leave the management to the experts like Arsene. Does a single Arsenal fan know as much as Arsene does about football management?

:-)
its all about expectations
sunderland stay up?
newcastle top half?
liverpool top 4?
what are arsenal fans expectations? top 4? last 16 CL? win the FA Cup
if so, then they aren't unhappy
i suggest expectations are higher than that though for a club of its resources
and it is in a tough spot, because its competing with lunatics who own trophy assets, not that concerned with value as arsene so clearly is
how the club manages that disconnect between boardroom and fan base is the issue

Why would anyone club want someone who behaves like this?

Deal sheets: what a load of tosh. You've had three months to sort a deal out. Why should you get two bonus hours?
Liverpool have had an Internacional player training with them all summer but still need a deal sheet to get it done by 8pm?!

Another solid transfer window for Southampton.
Identify targets early, get the majority in early and stick to guns with the want aways. Really do like the way Les Reed does business.
Van Dijk looks a solid aquisition and will slot straight into the first team alongside Fonte.
Wanyama needs to get his head down and prove he is good enough for a move next summer.

Why would any club just offer £5m up front for him? Just seems like you lot have been taking the mick with 4 low ball offers.

only one bid in for wanyama and it was for less than we paid for him move away was never serious apart from in his head
looking forward to seeing if JWP can challenge him for his position as a DM/deep playmaker
