Hopefully someone goes way off script, so we've got some good stuff for Krystal and Saagar tomorrow.

Pompeo always strikes me as a bit unhinged, for some reason.

He was first in his class at West Point, so he must be a bit of a brainiac.
He is very religious though - helped out as a part-time Deacon etc until shortly before he was elected to Congress, so there's that.

I remember that speech causing quite the ruckus, and the old wordswap was how I wrote a few pieces of homework over the years when I was too lazy forgot to do it Grin

Yeah, very hard to get where he is without being smart as hell, and I guess that 2nd part is where I get the unhinged.

Imagine him and Pence running the show. Wow.

Lol, none of these sound like they were written by the person delivering them.

Hey, it’s Bondi - looking good for mid-fifties.

Yeah, funny listening to them all just read off script.

Didn't know he had another daughter, too.

She usually gets ignored, but she was pretty good. Can’t remember anything she said already though.

This woman now has scary eyes.

Pretty easy to get lost with Ivanka and Jared floating about, and the other 2 brothers.

Didn't see her, but nobody can be scarier than Eric.

I meant this woman. Jeanette Nunez is Florida’s Lieutenant Governor, which is a bit like Vice President. I can't find any photos that show how scary her wide staring eyes actually were.

Day 2 was a snoozefest. Too many 'ordinary people' with one thing in common - they are boring AF. They tricked me by rearranging the sequence, which was the height of the excitement for most of the night. The scandal over Pompeo appearing rumbles on, while real scandals happened in front of us. The President pardoned an ex-criminal and then took part in a citizenship ceremony, both in the White house. Using the WH for political purposes is bad enough, but these activities are part of his role as President. Surely making them part of an election campaign is what the commentators and Dems should be criticising.

A few of the female speakers were the only interesting ones.Tiffany told us she has just graduated from law school, so maybe her low profile has just been giving her space to study - we'll find out in the second term. Pam Bondi, enabler of much borderline-legal GOP activity, laid into Biden, and managed to get through the night without doing anything unconstitutional. She criticised Joe for nepotism, before being followed by Tiffany and Eric Trump.

And Melania stole the show. She was great.

Hard to believe, but Pam Bondi has managed to stay out of prison for.......54 years

I saw some of Melania's speech, and what I caught seemed pretty good. Some going when the best speaker in your house doesn't even have English as a first language Smiley

McEnany is so damn good it's annoying.

Probably the best appointment he has made, that I can think of offhand.

This Blackburn sounds like a real beauty.

Good choice of words - first runner up, Miss US Teen 1970.

She's no airhead, though. She has a degree - in Home Economics.

But you're right, so far as I'm aware, she is one of the most bigoted people in Congress, openly anti-gay, anti-immigrant, etc. She's a big Trump supporter, but he is well to her left.

Could be. If I had to pick one I think it would be Stephen Miller. He is fiendishly brilliant. A lot of the speeches this week have been so packed with relevant points, with no meandering, that I suspect he has written most of them, and just had various people saying his words. Kellyanne has also been fantastic at what she does (not that I approve of what she does). And several of the Cabinet seem competent, though only a few of them make the headlines. I can't say anyone is better than Kayleigh, though.
