This is my biggest concern - a millionaire British athlete who doesn't want to live here. Really trivialises the real issue - I do hope Mo manages to get back into the states -I has a feeling he will and then I guess we can all see that there is no problem at all now Mo's OK

Looks like he's ok - phew, we can all breathe out now

One lesson from Trump's first week: the Breitbartian fringe is now running the world.

12 lessons from President Donald Trump’s hectic, consequential first week

One week into his tenure, Trump has managed to validate his supporters’ biggest hopes while also confirming his critics’ worst fears.

It's something that every kid in America learns in school - the three branches of government are the Executive (President), Legislative (Congress) and Judicial (Supreme Court).

Not any more - mention of judical has been removed from the White House website

http://gizmodo.com/why-is-the-judicial-branch-missing-from-whitehouse-gov-1791763815

Coming at a time when officials in charge of implementing Trump's Muslim ban are ignoring court injunctions this is not a great sign.

Also, here's a worrying 'what's going to happen next' timeline someone has postulated.

https://medium.com/@yonatanzunger/trial-balloon-for-a-coup-e024990891d5

The bit about the Rosneft shares is particularly interesting as it was flagged up in advance as something that would happen.

Loving the worlds mass over reaction to Trumps screening policy.

So a few people flying in from Iran had to spend 3 hours being asked additional questions about their background.

Oh no, infringement on civil liberties. Damn disgrace. Sir Mo was right, he will never see his kids again!!!

What a load of bollox.

As someone that travels the globe, if you have a stamp from a Russian or Baltic State in your passport, and fly to some parts of the US, you will be in immigration for hours.
Try flying into Israel, on business(and admitting it) and thats a two hour wait.

You don't hear about those stories day after day. Its life. Trump wants to stop any old potential terrorist coming into the States, and it is causing a few people of similar backgrounds to known terrorist organisations a deal of pain. Suck it up. I have to, just to do my job, and so do hundreds of thousands of others.

A very basic statement rang true to me at the weekend.

If I am scared, I lock the doors to my house, so I can vet who I let in. I sure don't leave the door wide open so anyone can walk in.

But the country that has provided most Islamic terrorists within the US (Saudi Arabia) isn't on the list, so it's not about security, is it?

If it was, they'd be first on the list.

Things would get fun real fast if Trump ever tried including the Saudi's in his ban.

In actual fact it seems to be simply bullying Muslim countries who have no leverage with the USA.

You don't get any "stamps" on your passport in the baltic states.  I had 3 years of Russian visas in my passport and wasn't ever stopped at US immigration.

So your return to the politics threads on blonde is marked by utter BS as usual.  Just stick to horses and golf. tyia

WOW.

Thanks for the welcome back double. Nice to see you too.

When i said stamps, I meant visa applications, and I also included the Stans, which strictly speaking aren't the Baltics, but our guy that covers that area we call the Baltic Boy, so I was thinking of trips to his area when I used my example. Hardly a need to call my comments "utter BS".

So a slip of the tongue/pen gets greeted with the usual Blonde abuse, just because someone misses the point, and wants to pick a fight.

Not sure why I bother. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

You don't seem very well informed. None of those countries have had terrorists commit acts in the US or have vast terrorist problems at home (many of their problems stem from the US dropping bombs on them or bombs sold by the US/UK being dropped on them), those countries who have haven't been banned and coincidentally have strong economic links to both Chump and the arms trade . Those banned are those who are too weak to stand up for themselves who have a large Muslim population.

Chumps statement that he couldn't give notice even to the border officers for NS reasons otherwise they would flock in during that 'week long' gap is just as narrowminded and ignorant given the many many months it takes to get a green card in the US or even just go through asylum application process there.

But ofc fitting narratives as opposed to fact based conclusions is just perfect for the worlds new breed of bigots.

I don't know why you bother either - how in the name of god could you confuse "the stans" with the baltic states?

And in any case being quizzed at immigration is something that anyone having visited eg Pakistan accepts.  It is a far cry from having a valid visa or having been granted refugee status and permanent residency and then point blank refused entry.

As you said.

Best I steer clear, having my own opinion is bang out of order, if it doesn't marry up to yours.

Bigotry of a different kind I suppose, to those obviously less intelligent than yourself, who probably never makes mistakes, or who are only tolerant of like minded people.

I am not criticising your "opinions"  it is your "facts" that are the problem:

That is as incorrect as your Baltic states/Russia remark.

Perhaps you can suggest where he can do warm high altitude training in the U.K.
