"Hmmm, Smallbridge"

Cooo. I have memories of that when we were young. What was it from?

I just read an obit,  and having thought Windsor was long gone I was surprised to see Melvyn Hayes still going too.

RIP lovely boy

Melvyn Hayes can often be seen wandering round my local Tesco. Still instantly recognisable.

You shop in Tesco?

I had you down as an Aldi man.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Michel Legrand has gone aged 86, and the windmills of our minds have ceased turning.  From Wiki, The French musical composer, arranger, conductor, and jazz pianist. Legrand was a prolific composer, he wrote over 200 film and television scores, in addition to many memorable songs. He is best known for his often haunting, jazz-tinged film music.

Albert Finney turned down a knighthood because he thought it was too snobby - says it all really.

RIP

Gordon Banks has died. He was 81.

Remembered for 3 things I guess - ever-present member of the 1966 England World Cup winning team, losing the sight of one eye in a car crash 6 years later, & of course the save from Pele.

RIP Gordon. Watched him many times at the Victoria ground as a kid. Most memorably in my early teens when we on the 72 League cup v Chelsea in 72. A true legend of the game.
