Ex Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins reported to have died following a car accident this morning.

Adam Schefter among those reporting it on Twitter so the news looks to be reliable, sadly.

This is a little late but being a proggy I had to post the very sad death of  Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou from complications due to treatment of COVID-19 at the age of 79.

Vangelis started writing music when he was 4 and performed his first live concert at age 6 and was quite the legend in many musical genres. In my youth I had a Saturday job in a record store which had a rather large second-hand vinyl box and one of my best finds was a mint copy of Break by Aphrodite’s Child one of his first successful forays into pop music.

He ventured into prog-psychedelic albums, partnerships including Monserrat Caballe, Irene Papas & Jon Anderson from Yes and then into the many film scores he is famous for as well as conducting orchestras and writing the themes for the 2002 World cup .
He had many honours in his lifetime which can be found on his wiki.

"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain"

RIP Maestro. What a legacy you left us.

Lovely tribute.

The Chariots Of Fire theme is probably my favourite piece of instrumental music ever.

Also, without fitting in to any of the typical genres of music I listen to, "I'll Find My Way Home" with Jon Anderson is also a firm favourite on my playlist (despite the cheesy TOTP footage, featuring a guitar and baby grand piano, neither of which are heard in the song!)

RIP Vangelis.

Cathal Coughlan has departed this earth after a long illness.

Think his songs were always a hard listen, but a great lyricist.

I loved that song too, The Friends Of Mr Cairo album is one of my all time favourites and it's a toss up depending on my mood whether the original of State of Independence or the cover by Donna Summer which is also on that album is as good or better.

The great man himself has passed away, aged 86.

It was expected, he'd been unwell & in & out of hospital, but it's still a painful loss.

What a jockey, what a character.
