Some very good covid charts that help visualise where we are.

Fascinating stuff, if you like this sort of thing.

The increase in the number of tests we’re doing is a huge improvement, lots of people (including Hancock) deserve a great deal of credit, let’s hope they can sustain this improvement in the coming weeks. People should make their own judgement whether they met, in good faith, the target they set.....

https://www.hsj.co.uk/quality-and-performance/revealed-how-government-changed-the-rules-to-hit-100000-tests-target/7027544.article

......and assess whether it is important. I’m sure they will make it clear whether they are counting all the incomplete tests that they’ve sent out.

Why give this dickwad an ounce of publicity?

Only because there are elements of the case that I would be interested to see tested in court, the courts judgements will ignore the fact that he is a dickwad. It’s something that I was ignorant of until you let me know. I would be interested to know what I’ve missed about him?

He is a covid denier who seems to specialise in misinformation and co-produced the David Icke film.  He is also pretty loaded but crowd funding this legal action.  I couldn't care less about the interesting elements of the case.   I am sure Icke comes up with the odd cogent thought too.

I am sure there can be judicial reviews/enquiries in time, but just give it a few weeks and stop wasting people's time.

See that thing you wrote about those on the extremes this morning...

My first impression of the case was that it reminded me of all the Americans protesting about their constitutional rights being infringed.

But on the other hand, that's what judicial review is for.

My hunch is that it's more towards the "American" end of the scale rather than the "Gina Miller" end of the scale but that's something for the courts to properly assess.

OK, wow, he is really crazy. There’s always interest the first time something is subjected to a legal test. My hope would be that the government would win (and a slightly better than a layman’s expectation that they would), I don’t think it’s necessarily unhealthy to test these things as we go along.

It’s a wrong to call myself “slight better than a layman”, I spend plenty of time in court and with lawyers but I’m a layman on this, by any measure.

they include tests sent out in the post but not returned yet.

Obviously it was an ambitious target, and there has been a big ramp up in testing

the actual "reaching the target" is a bit smoke and mirrors though for PR purposes

Over 122,000 tests yesterday

I’m expecting them to walk off with ‘We are the Champions’ blasting out (Hancock will be singing ‘I am the Champions’ o/c).

73,191 people tested is a fantastic effort, it’ll be interesting so see how that number does in the next two weeks.

739 more people dead 😔.

The bragging has got a bit much. Sam Coates just shredded him.

Based on what Prof John Newton said ~83,000 tests were done. Still impressive, unfortunate to lie about the headline number.
