The next Blonde Bash will be held on the weekend of 18th/19th of March at Cincinnati's in Glasgow

The provisional programme of events is as follows:

Friday 17th

* Normal £20 Cincinnati comp, open to public

Saturday 18th

* Club open from 1pm for meeting/greeting/drinking/Sit N Goes
* 7pm £30 Double Chance Freezeout. Maximum runners 100
* Through the night: SNG/Cash/Heads Up Comp

Sunday 19th

* 1pm Sunday lunch and Quiz at the club
* 4pm £20 competition at Hamilton Academicals FC with Celebrity Poker players from the footballing world. Shuttle transport provided from Cincinnatis.
* Regular £20 competition open to public in the evening for those still standing.

Over the course of the coming week we will put up a thread about hotel arrangements (in the process of arranging a deal) and travel plans.

You will note the the maximum tournament capacity at Cincins is 100. However, not being bound by gaming commission rules we will operate a system of alternates. For those unfamiliar with this, it works as follows:

The first 100 names on the Acceptances thread shortly to be started on the Live Poker board will get a seat in the double chance comp. The rest go on the reserve list. As players get knocked out of the comp for the first two hours only they are replaced by players from the reserve list in order. Last time Tikay lasted three hands in a double chance comp. Whilst he might beat that this time, don't bank on it so if you are high on the rerserve list you have every chance of getting in.

That's it. Fire away with any comments or questions here and please start putting your names down on the Acceptances thread on live poker.

Cheers

sounds great and its sure to be as good as the last one if not better.

Can it be checked wether or not licensed staff from casinos could attend the event as "The Broadway Collective" would love to attend this (theye all blondites now) and say hello again without the restraint of working.

Cheers

Absolutely gutted.

You have to go and put it on the only weekend that I will be away....

Oh well, at least that will leave a space for a decent poker player Smiley

Cincinnatis is a gutshot style club, and as far as I am aware there is nothing stopping emplyoees of casinos from playing there, other than being frowned upon by your employer Cheesy

As i'll be booking Friday and Monday off work this time to savour a full weekend i'd appreciate it if anyone could recommend a hotel, hostelry or even a good old fashion B&B (thats Bed & Banana not Bed & Breakfast Smiley) thats within swinging distance to the casino.

Cheers Smiley

p.s. being an irish monkey will there be any special discounts to irish players on the friday?? Wink

<post edit comments: OK, if i'd have read the thread in its entirity i'd have seen that hotel accomodation is being organized, would still appreciate any comments anyway in case they have a policy against flea ridden animals!!

Just to confirm that we have no problem with casino staff attending. Whether said casino staff's employer has a problem is up to the staff and the employer...so Blue Wolf...I'll leave it with you

If you are having alternates, would it not be better to scrap the double chance format? That will allow more players in.

Matt, specifically we are attempting to get discount deals and provide a booking code for the Novotel (relatively expensive) and the IBIS (relatively cheap) hotels in the vicinity.

Details if we are ever not kept waiting on the end of the phone for 20 minutes until we get cut off!  Cheesy

Flushie, thanks...I will reflect that view back

i know people put a lot of effort into these things, and I wont actually be attending, but can I just say something about the hotel situation ?

The IBIS is a really basic hotel. The novotel isnt really much better , and are a fair wee bit away from the venue. I would have thought it maybe a better bet to offer a decent level of accomodation as an alternative - eg Jurys Inn is one of the most modern in the city and offers decent 3 star accomodation. It also is about 2 minutes walk away from Cincinnatis.

There are others almost as close, and more expensive - eg Radisson, which may also be worth looking at.

yep Laz is right, the Radison and the Jury's are the best ones as they are closer and quite cheap over the weekends.
