Tikay, can I suggest one before team news comes out.

Morton were 11/8 earlier in the week and even first thing this morning that could still be found but there seems to have been a bit of a move for them.  The 5/4 with Ladbrokes is a stand out the now.  I opposed them last time when they played Queen of the South but by all accounts it wasn't the worse game they had played and although failing to score they did have a number of shots which is better that what they had being doing.   Morton were unlucky last season and for much of the season were title contenders this season has been poor but they might be about to turn the corner.  £30 @ 5/4 seems reasonable here.  If we can't get the 5/4 I would be inclined to leave it.

They are at home to Livingston who are woeful.

What are your thoughts on opposing Celtic today? I'm sure you suggested opposing them following CL games however the trend has shifted this season with all post CL games being won but points dropped in 3 of 5 games pre CL including 2 at home.

Celtic players will very much have Milan on Tuesday at the back of there minds and Aberdeen have been in good form winning 4 in a row before their defeat to Hearts last time out which looked like a bit of freak result based on the highlights of the game.

7/1 Aberdeen looks fair to me.

7/1 is definitely fair.  This Celtic team is far weaker than last year.  Depends if Lennon tinkers with the team, I heard him say yesterday he wouldn't but he's said that befiore then tried to freshen it up a little.  Celtic seem really weak in front of goal.  Aberdeen seem to have managed a number of results but without scoring many themselves.  I would be more inclined to play unders if I was going to bet in this match.  But more of a watching brief today.

One thing I would point out is in previous years Aberdeen would have been best priced around 10's they are better  than they have been for years and Celtic are worse. So neven though on the face of it seems big it could just be a decent midpoint for the books.

I have a few bets in mind for some of the lower league Scottish events.  I won't be able to post them until about 2:30 though.

Keep an eye out as Fred has missed a decent few results in this area.

Just a suggestion, but PM tikay once you've had your fill if you want Fred to be on, then post at 2.30 if you want to tell others. At least gives him time to see your bet and place his own.

I think the late posting is because he awaits Team news. Not 100% sure, but that was my understanding.

This you will find that not many of these markets move that significantly unless there is some major news but I like to know for sure that players I rate in these leagues are starting because they do make a big difference.

"cases we currently have going through"

cases of what?

Chris Wood getting 10k a week (international footballer, goalscorer, came from a Premier League squad) is the least of the Championship's problems!

Property Purchases.

I knew some of the chamionship teams dealt in silly money but some of it is makes no sense to me.

I am in work just now, leisurley Saturday shift before heading off for the football and I have been reviewing some cases we currently have going through and the one I have just looked at was for a young footballer who plays for Leicester.  I hadn't heard the name before (sounds like a former England goalkeeper) so I googled him to see what he has achieved.  Not much by the looks of it.  But somehow he manages to get paid 10 grand a week.  Insane.

Poshies line up 3-5-2 and I don't fancy many goals, bit you never know with us. Still capable of winning 5-0 or losing 3-0.

Mark Little will be off on a few gallops down the right side. Spreadex 22/1 to score any time is crazy, 14/1 general elsewhere is just about OK.

Otherwise Mendez any time @ 5/1 also fine, but hard to back him at that price when he was 8/1 last Tuesday with Poshies as 2/5 favourites to win. Game just a watcher for me.

Good judge I follow on twitter said that Lalkovic is the nuts, put him up for man of the match at 25/1 and he is now 8/1 also put him up for anytime at 11/4 and he is still 11/4 corals. Fwiw mendez betfred doing the double delight promo on this game tonight, not ideal if you don't fancy any goals but double the odds if your first scorer gets second and trppled if he gets the third adds a small bit of value.

Looks like a new sheriff in town. N1 Ali!!!

Cheers mate, can't take the credit for this one  as it wasn't a pick of mine, but thought i'd post it as it was a game on TV and the guy i follow is v good. Now get Mendez-laing on the equaliser and we are having a good night!

You sharing?

I appreciate the business model behind the site was always to go subscription based but disappointed it had gone subscription based at this point in the season. I would be interested on the ROI to a level stake because the bets strength seemed to increase after a bit of a bad spell.

I forgot to reply to this one at the time. It just isn't true.

First of all I never really had a  bad spell. We have had 11 weeks of the season and I've either won or broken even on all bar one (that's from memory I haven't been through and counted, I don't really think in terms of weeks just worry about the bottom line, although anyone can see every bet I placed on the site). I'm betting an average of 8 points on each bet over the whole season and the average in recent weeks has been closer to 9 points a bet. The average of the first three weeks was around 6 points per bet.

You make it sound like I've been desperately doubling-up to get my money back when all I've been doing is slightly increasing stakes while on a good run, when I have more information to bet on (we are deeper into the season). Anyone who has followed the bets as suggested will have built their bankroll and can easily cope with the slightly increased stakes. In the first couple of weeks I wanted to start a little gently and I didn't feel so confident until I had more data to work on.

The way your post portrays it seems a bit mean.

I'm not sure I have an answer to why we picked this point of the season to start charging. Did you mean it would have suited you better to pay from week one? I guess we could retrospectively charge people. I'll suggest it to Joe.

This weeks bets will be up in a bit. I hope people realise that I work hard on this and so far it seems to show a profit.

Sorry if you felt I was ool. Wasn't my intention.

Fwiw I have no issue with it being a pay service, although personally would have preferred to have had more notice of it going that way. Charging retrospectively, good luck with that.

I would gladly pay a subscription to the service but would prefer a set of parameters that were pre-determined.  If the nfl stuff takes you to December or whenever will there be a chance to subscribe from January to January say? I would like to be involved on that. Especially with Cheltenham, the World Cup etc!

In the football today there are two bets I like in Scotland.

The first one is Alloa at home to Raith . Raith are marginally the better team, but with home advantage on their non grass pitch I expected Alloa to be more a 13/8 shot you can get 19/10 in places might even be bigger.

The other game I like is Queen of the South at home to Morton. I really expected Queens to be much shorter I would have backed them at shorter too. They can be backed at a shade of just under evens with VC. Assuming VC replicate the price of McBookie in Scottish markets.

Wow are they still going?  In my early days in the industry at VC we used to use them to hedge and bet at the Scottish tracks they bet at.  You could call up them up and they would lay you a proper, proper bet.  10k at 6/4, a grand each way at 20/1, that kind of thing and all you would get was "aye you got that".  The only other bookies that were even comparable were Stephen Little and later, Freddie Williams.  Nice to see they are still around and in business.  Proper bookmakers.

They are Red and will still lay a decent bet as long as you play the game and don't rip it.  Although they might be running for cover if my trixie holds.  The above bets were my best shouts but I took another game that's in the bag just need Alloa to hold.

Would be marvellous if you could post the bets much earlier than 10 minutes before kick off at 2.48pm on a Saturday, and 5 minutes before a race, earlier

Its good stuff, but more notice required.

Sorry, my bad. The horse was just more thinking out loud. It was writing that post that delayed my timings. I was awaiting team news in a 3rd game as wanted to post all 3 bets but it was late getting to me as my mobile was playing up.

Much of the team news for lower league Scottish games can be most important and it's not so easy to get hold of the information. It's no wonder the game is the backwater of British football but it does sometimes pay for Christmas.

Probably a bit late but I think the 28/1 about Conquisto in the Paddy Power is still too big. I got on at bigger prices but for a horse who 's a fluent jumper, has a great engine and conditions will not be an issue this is still big. I really like the jockey on board as well.

I am really keen on Arsenal at Old Trafford but the markets I have played are Ozil/Ramsey both FGS and Anytime. Aldo backed Vidic to get booked.  Wouldn't put thread off any of them.

Tikay can I put up an Anytime scorer bet in the St Johnstone v Kilmarnock game ?

Stevie May is 7/4 with Bet Fred. I thought the correct price was more likely 5/4. Kilmarnock are pretty bad defensively. St Johnstone have improved this year under Tommy Wright and play some good football.  May is the talisman of their attack and can be found taking pens and free kicks he is slo pretty useful in the air and will probably move on to bigger and better things in January or the summer. A better player than Steven Fletcher was at his age imo.

Unfortunately, I was too late, good luck though.

Unlucky. Wasn't much of a sweat done and dusted just after the half hour mark.
