Will DTD be showing the Man United game tonight? Thinking of going playing the high roller sat if they are.

Great effort

If the turn is the Two Clubs and he pots it and has turned his hand over I'd be folding pretty quickly.

If villain had AsXsQQx, we still have 31%~, so we're getting pretty much direct odds to call in the worst case scenario.
801  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: An ACTUAL POKER HAND :) on: August 17, 2015, 06:30:21 PM
There's not many 'nut' outs and villian could easily be betting with the nut flush draw plus a made hand or if he has the bare As in his hand it's difficult to continue vs action on turn when a spade drops. Probably just fold given pot size bet into multiple opponents and the fact we don't have nut flush draw AND out of position.

So even if flush is good we can't lead on the turn as villian can bluff us with bare As or have the nut flush himself.

We've got more nut outs than the bare NFD.

I think c/c is the only way to go. I'm inclined to lead any card 6-J (non spade) on the turn (I think 6/7 is much better for our range as I'm not sure many people bet low end of wraps here closing the action unless they have NFD/blocker backup). i might lead as well as I think leading is the only way you fully stack him (get him to jam over a small river blocking type bet).
I'm torn between leading as I think when we lead and call a raise it turns our hand pretty face up, then again it's nice to have some hands like this to balance out the times we have bare QQ and don't want to flip for 5k.

Ok so just ran the proper numbers. It's obv a lot of guess work, and I've made quite loose assumptions about BB's range and stack off range. I've given him a cold call range of 40% here. Maybe too loose, but I'd guess it was ok for a semi whaley type. Sb range I've gone for a pretty standard top 15%, assuming hero is opening a decent amount. Both ranges excluding the very top that I assume are getting it in pre.

I've given sb a stack off range OTF as KQ+,Q9+:T,9+:hh,Thh+ and using this range he's going to be stacking off 53.25% of the time on this flop, given his preflop range.
I've given BB a pretty loose stack off range of any 2 pair, any flush draw, 9T+ (maybe too loose, let me know what you think). Therefore BB is going to be stacking off 75.16% of the time.

When sb has a hand he is stacking off with we have 16% vs his range, and 29% vs BB. 3 way we have 18%. Most of our EV comes from fold equity which we have 12% of vs said ranges, although as the pot is so big, it counts for a lot.

However as you can see it's a -$7.47 shove overall. Not much and a lot closer than I was expecting. Given that as Phil said he expects people to lead some of their GII hands, this probably works out to a breakeven shove.

Would like to hear opinions on my range estimations and anything I may have missed/overlooked/done wrong.

If we assume what Phil says is true (for both players) then things don't look too bad. But imo it's a huge stretch to discount all nutty/semi nutty hands because they don't lead. Pure range vs range doesn't really change a lot even if we loosen or tighten sb's 3bet range by 5/10%, and BB's cold calling range (which obv can vary hugely depending on who it is), we're still proper fucked.

Phil says he's not a math guy (which I find hard to believe) but even if we get absolute best possible scenario we aren't making much money.

I still love poker, but I prob enjoy it in a different way. When I first started playing I would just play anytime I could. Any stakes, any game, anywhere, all live. I just loved it. Then I started playing online and enjoyed the different dynamic and styles of play. After that I was just printing money and who doesn't enjoy that? Now I can kind of see an end to online poker for me. The enjoyment comes from getting better, being competitive and pushing myself so I can look back and say yeh I couldn't have got anything more from poker. I will def regret not putting in more volume a few years ago when games were great and there were tons of them. Obv thought it would stay like that forever, or at least 10+ years. But I def still get that little feeling somewhere whenever I go play a big live tourney, the same one I had going to play £1 rebuys at uni all those years ago. I doubt that will ever go.

Hey guys,

Long time since last update but I intend to update more regularly as I'm becoming more active on the forum. Been taking part in the Blonde Quiz which is right up my street as I'm a bit of a quiz geek. I'd love for my ability to remember useless shit to translate into remembering good poker theory but alas.
Last couple of months have been ok poker wise, even though I had my first losing month of HU last month. June and this month I've been smashing, and having 1 losing month in 5 years you can't really complain. I've been dipping back into 6max PLO more and more. I'm enjoying battling to start tables and am really liking 3/4 handed and the dynamics that come with it. Been doing a fair amount of off the table work this month so volume is lol bad but crushing kind of makes up for it.
Played live a few sessions, mainly DC cash and the monthly deepstack where I made a semi deep run, picking up a WPT seat a long the way. I don't think anything compares to making deep runs in tourneys, no matter the prize pool. DTD have also started a weekly DC tourney which is fantastic for my Vegas prep. I'm prob going to be playing it most weeks. The WSOPE is round the corner in Berlin, a place which I'd love to go, so I think I'm going to go. It coincides with Oktoberfest and a Germany qualifier game in Leipzig, and is a fairly cheap tourney trip all round. Def won't be playing the main unless I satty in, but will for sure be playing the PLO, Mix game and other NL events. Anyone else heading out there? Anyone been to Berlin before and can suggest stuff to do?
WCOOP is also soon upon us and I'm really reluctant to get involved. Reading Pads' thread (and others) and strat advice, I feel I'm completely out of depth when it comes to NL tourneys, esp online ones. Still it's once  year so might just end up flicking in depending on how the months going.
I'm a pretty big Man United fan (yes I'm from Manchester unfortunately). Watching the game tonight was pretty painful and I hope we sign someone to add to the attacking third. We def need some pace, or even someone who can link up quickly. United's attack has become laborious and Rooney looks a shadow of his former self. Mata has been played out of position since he came, and adds little out wide. Still the defence looks great, esp Shaw and Darmian. Smalling and Blind look solid. Hope DDG stays and can get his head right. LVG isn't handling the DDG situation great and I think it may affect players joining. People have some pretty choice words to say about him, but I love him the crazy fucker.
Will be playing the Sky 6max next week, hoping to better last times min cash.

Results:

June: Most of the volume came from 2/4 6max, with the rest general HU.

July: Big downswing was mostly 1/2 huplo short which isn't too bad $ wise but makes for a shitty graph.

August: Mostly 2/3/4 handed plo. I'm enjoying playing with same 2/3 regs and getting away from the table and breaking their games down and doing tons of work. Makes me feel like I'm actually doing something challenging.

My 100m world record answer was soooooo far away from what it actually is. Crazy.
Also I think I misinterpreted 20. The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is located in which capital city? as 20. Name the furthest possible place on earth away from The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

A guy called JNANDEZPOKER is steaming, doing a challenge 100 000 in 100 days staring bank 20k, think he is doing it on PLO zoom, seems a pretty decent stream. Any PLO players know him?

RIO coach JNandez has started a daily stream for high stakes plo, but including a lot of other variants of poker. He complements it with a pretty good variety of music in between. Pretty good stream and a great coach/guy.

Obv ones for me have already been said many times.

Other ones that stick out for me are:

Rwandan genocide- I was 6 when this happened. I can remember it being on the news every night and was prob the first event that made me aware of how cruel and evil humans could be. I can remember asking my Nan why this was happening, why they were killing people and remember her just replying "because they're different" and it really hit home.

Yugoslav Wars- Similar for me to the Rwanda thing, I was a bit older when the Kosovo war happened, and watched a lot of the news on it. It also made me aware of how different countries in the form of NATO were banding together to help the little guy. Both stick out in my mind because there wasn't a real reason (from my point of view) why these terrible things were happening other than that both sides were of different ethnicity.

Jill Dando murder- famous person getting killed on their doorstep really terrified me as it gave you a sense that no one was safe.

Harlod Shipman- Britain's biggest serial killer and my Grandma's old doctor (he didn't kill her). Obv not the most gruesome serial killer but on shear volume he was a truly terrifying man. He also practiced close to where I lived and I was pretty scared going to the doctors for a  few months.

The Mars Landings/asteroid landing- I'm really into space stuff but I think this jumped out in my head because of a programme I was watching around the same time. It was called 10,000 BC and documented a group of 30ish people trying to recreate living in prehistoric times. They struggled massively and had to have outside assistance multiple times. It made me realise how far as a species we've come. I mean there's an actual robot on Mars (made by us), millions of miles away in space and these people can't even build a hut properly. Makes me think of how many brilliant, amazing things humans can do when they want.

The financial crisis- This really peaked my interest and I made me much more aware of how the world works. From a personal point of view it had very minimal impact on me (just having left Uni, playing poker professionally) but to see people really close to me lives just crumble and them lose everything. How can these people basically in charge of everyone's finances be so reckless?
