Now down to a mere £10k. Sick when you think he had £170k at one point.

I dont think hes inept approach to bankroll management is actually that bad, we're not robots, the champions league quote is classic, i've played on the same table as him a couple of times and never really rated him that much as a player, he was on a nice roll and he will have it so fair play to him.

He's obv picked up a ton of experience in the process but you have to find your level of incompetance and move down a rung to where you can be comfortable.
Playing nosebleed stakes with the best in the world you will either go broke or become one of the best.

Its pretty obvious that a big factor is game selection, emotional control and poker/life balance.
Unfortunately I see this guy going busto until he realises he needs to be playing 3/6 or 5/10 for a few months at least.

he's an awful player, anyone decent who has a bankroll would clean him out, just had a hot run, and now mr varience is kicking in.  some of the hands ge speaks about on his blog are laughable, seems a nice kid tho

Why didn't he just drop down a few levels before he hit the bottom of his bankroll?  His game is obviously not good enough, and the question is, will it be good enough for any level?

How quickly is he going to get bored playing at those stakes?  I'd love to play the bigger games, but without the bankroll AND the game to go with it, it would be stupid.

For him it's a case of easy come, easy go I guess.

Just read a bit further down:

exactly, has he laearnt nothing. So he is dropping down to play 25p 50p and but wants to make 500k online or 250k by june. He is quite clearly going to build up a roll then put it all onj the line again moving up stakes to quickly trying to get within in touching distance of when he had a decent amount.

Cheesy quote but true in this case

"One who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it"

He does seem like a decent bloke and his blog has entertained hundreds of readers but for christs sake, 500k?? what kind of a goal is that???

As you say, the minute he gets his roll to 4 figures he will dump it all on a 5/10 or 10 /20 table, and even if he wins that session, the 4k he might have then will all go on a higher table.

Doomed before he starts because of that goal he has set.

£170k to nowt in just a few months, that is just beyond crazy. No one should play 250/500 and less you have a couple of gazillion dollars handy!!

He really needs help I think, latest post says he played £0.15/£0.25 with a £400 roll. Got bored and donked the whole lot on $25/$50 despite being $4100 up at one point...
